The event's distinguished panel of judges has been unveiled, featuring a mix of familiar figures from 2022 and new representatives spanning various aspects of web3 gaming. Notable newcomers to the panel include experts from web3 gaming venture capital firms, blockchain and ecosystem specialists, infrastructure partners, and content creators, in addition to renowned gaming leaders and tech giants such as Amazon and Google
We are proud to introduce one of our jury members Galen Law-Kun, Founding Partner of Double Peak. As one of the first family offices based out of Asia focused on digital assets, Galen has been deeply entrenched in the crypto space since 2017. At Double Peak, the team adopts a philosophy of value investing and making key investments with a long time horizon in early funding rounds and secondary markets. The ultimate vision is to bridge cutting-edge decentralized technologies between China and International markets. The team consists of talented people with institutional backgrounds, with experience in investment banking, private equity, and entrepreneurship. 1. What is the most enjoyable part of your role?
“Meeting new founders, understanding concepts, token models, and learning new trends. The feeling of fulfillment when working with a founder and seeing them succeed.”
2. How do you see the progress made in web3 gaming since last year?
“A lot of tourists have been washed out, founders who did not optimize their burn or were not able to pivot quickly enough ran out of capital & were unable to raise. The remaining projects that were able to survive will outperform this cycle.”
3. What is the most valuable addition web3 brings into gaming, from your perspective, if any?
“The ability to trade, transfer without intermediaries and the interoperability of gaming assets.”
4. What is your outlook on 2024 and beyond for web3 gaming?
“Games taking a mobile-first approach. The rapid growth of casual indie games with web3 elements integrated within the game. Continued dominance of Polygon x Immutable X within the gaming sector.”
