Gunzilla Games Partners with Delphi Ventures

Gunzilla Games, the developer behind the upcoming AAA battle royale title Off The Grid (OTG), has announced that Delphi Ventures, a leading crypto venture capital firm, is now the largest validator for its blockchain platform, GUNZ. This partnership arrives as Gunzilla prepares for the global release of OTG, a game set to push boundaries within the battle royale genre.

What is Off The Grid?

Off The Grid is a high-end battle royale third-person shooter that also includes a 60-hour single-player campaign. The game integrates cybernetic limbs as swappable and tradable NFTs, alongside a wide range of customizable weapons. Players can trade these items using the game's mobile wallet, which operates with the GUN token.

Gunzilla Games has spent more than four years developing Off The Grid, raising over $100 million to bring this ambitious project to life. Gunzilla Games' co-founder and CEO, Vlad Korolov, expressed his enthusiasm for the project:

"With the launch of Off the Grid and GUNZ to the public, we are not just advancing towards a new horizon in AAA gaming but also establishing a new standard in the blockchain space." Korolov's vision underscores the company's commitment to pushing the boundaries of innovation in web3 gaming.

Delphi Ventures x Gunzilla Games

The investment from Delphi Ventures marks a significant milestone for Gunzilla Games. Piers Kicks, Founding Partner at Delphi Ventures, believes OTG embodies what many in the gaming industry have long awaited: a high-caliber game backed by blockchain technology. He praised the Gunzilla team, led by Co-Founder and Chief Creative Officer Neill Blomkamp, for their dedication over the past five years in crafting a unique gaming experience.

Blomkamp, best known for his work on District 9, Elysium, and Gran Turismo, brings a visionary approach to OTG. The game blends a 60-hour narrative-driven campaign with the competitive battle royale format, making it the first major game with an on-chain footprint to launch across platforms like PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S.

Deep Narrative and Innovative Gameplay

Piers Kicks expressed excitement over the game's potential, noting its deep narrative and innovative gameplay. He emphasized how Gunzilla's blockchain infrastructure has eliminated the user experience challenges often associated with web3 gaming. Kicks also highlighted OTG's potential to reshape the gaming industry by promoting open economies and enabling true asset ownership through the GUNZ blockchain.

The GUNZ blockchain is built on a custom Avalanche Subnet and offers game developers a unique ecosystem to create player-driven economies. This platform allows players to own in-game assets as NFTs, enabling trading and greater player agency. GUNZ includes several integrated features, such as a non-custodial wallet, a blockchain scanner, and an in-game marketplace. Recently, GUNZ was also integrated into OpenSea, further expanding its reach.

Vlad Korolev, CEO and Co-Founder of Gunzilla Games, echoed Delphi's enthusiasm, calling the investment a vote of confidence in the broader GUNZ ecosystem. "This partnership with Delphi solidifies their role as the largest Gunzilla Validator Node operator and demonstrates trust in both Off The Grid and the GUNZ blockchain," Korolev stated.

Delphi's involvement, built on a long history of backing web3 gaming projects, strengthens Gunzilla's position as a key player in the future of decentralized gaming.

The collaboration between Gunzilla and Delphi Ventures not only highlights the growth of blockchain in gaming but also sets the stage for the potential mass adoption of web3 games, where players can fully own and trade digital assets within immersive gaming worlds.
