Hasbro Reveals Zelda Tears of the Kingdom Action Figures

The Hasbro and Nintendo partnership that fans have been watching since it was first announced has finally delivered its first real product reveal. Right as San Diego Comic-Con kicked off, the two companies pulled back the curtain on a trio of action figures from The Legend of Zelda, and the designs are pulling directly from Tears of the Kingdom.

What Hasbro is bringing to Hyrule

Three figures make up the initial wave, and each one is grounded in the Tears of the Kingdom aesthetic. Link and Princess Zelda both stand at 6 inches tall with 20+ points of articulation, priced at $28 each. Ganondorf gets the premium treatment at 7.5 inches and $43, which feels about right for the series' main villain.

The accessories are where things get interesting. The Link figure ships with a Hylian shield, Master Sword, and an interchangeable Zonai power hand, which is a nice nod to one of Tears of the Kingdom's defining mechanics. Zelda's figure includes the Decayed Master Sword and an interchangeable sword grip hand. Ganondorf rounds things out with his Gloom Sword, scabbard, and an interchangeable sword grip hand.

Preorders opened today, July 22, at 5 PM PT / 8 PM ET directly through Hasbro Pulse. All three figures are available simultaneously, so you are not waiting on a staggered rollout.

Why Tears of the Kingdom was the right choice

Hasbro could have gone with the classic green-tunic Link or a more generic Zelda design, but anchoring the first wave to Tears of the Kingdom makes a lot of sense right now. The game released in May 2023 and still has a massive active fanbase, and the character designs from that entry are among the most detailed the franchise has ever produced.

The Zonai power hand on the Link figure is a particularly smart inclusion. It is not just a cosmetic swap; it is the kind of detail that signals these figures were designed for fans who actually played the game, not just general collectors picking up a recognizable face.

A franchise moment bigger than the figures themselves

The timing here is worth paying attention to. The Zelda franchise is in the middle of a significant expansion beyond games. A live-action film from Sony Pictures and Nintendo is set for 2027, with Wes Ball (The Maze Runner, Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes) directing. Benjamin Evan Ainsworth plays Link and Bo Bragason portrays Zelda, and the production filmed in New Zealand at some of the same locations used for Peter Jackson's Lord of the Rings trilogy.

On the gaming side, a remake of The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time is coming to Switch 2 this year, keeping the franchise front and center for both longtime fans and newer players.

Hasbro entering this space now, with Tears of the Kingdom as the launch point, positions the toy line to grow alongside what is shaping up to be a major cultural moment for the franchise. Whether future waves follow the Ocarina of Time remake or lean into the movie's character designs will be worth watching.

For now, if you want to get ahead on the figures or need a refresher on the Tears of the Kingdom lore behind these character designs, the Legend of Zelda guide collection has everything you need.
