Honkai: Star Railversion 4.1 drops on Wednesday, March 25, bringing new five-star character Ashveil to the gacha banner alongside a condensed four-week patch window that breaks the game's usual six-week update cycle.

Why Version 4.1 Is Running Shorter Than Usual

HoYoverse is trimming version 4.1 to just four weeks rather than the standard six. The reason is straightforward: version 4.0 launched two weeks late, and the team needs to realign the schedule ahead of version 4.2, which marks Honkai: Star Rail's third anniversary. That means players have a tighter window to complete events and pull on banners before the next major update arrives.

Version 4.1 Banner Schedule

Version 4.1 banner lineup

Here is the full banner breakdown for version 4.1:

Phase 1 (March 25 to April 7)

  • Ashveil runs the full patch from March 25 to April 21
  • Hyacine runs Phase 1 only, from March 25 to April 7
  • Four-star characters boosted on both banners: Asta, Moze, and Misha

Phase 2 (April 8 to April 21)

  • Boothill joins Ashveil for the second half of the patch
  • The Fate collaboration banners for Archer and Saber remain available throughout

What's New in Version 4.1

Compared to the massive 4.0 update, version 4.1 is a smaller content drop. Here's what's arriving with the patch:

  • New Trailblaze Mission continuing the story on Planarcadia
  • Star Rail FEST, a new Planarcadia area inspired by Belobog, the Xianzhou Luofu, and Penacony
  • Pearluxe Tower, another new explorable area on Planarcadia
  • A new five-star Elation Light Cone available in the shop
  • Two new sets of Planar Ornaments
  • Gift of Odyssey check-in rewards (10 Special Passes)

Divergent Universe: Arcadian Chronicles

The key endgame addition in 4.1 is the Divergent Universe: Arcadian Chronicles update, which introduces a Planarcadia-themed rework of the familiar Divergent Universe format. Every room converts into a card, and players can use Waypoint Passes to navigate directly to preferred domains, including skipping combat entirely in favor of reward rooms. Players also choose a mask at the start of each run and level it up for escalating rewards.

Wispae War Saga Event

Running from March 25 to April 20, Wispae War Saga is a roguelike strategy mini-game where players collect and level up wispae creatures to battle across four zones. After each fight, three random cards and capsules with varying effects are offered, functioning similarly to buff cards found in the Simulated and Divergent Universe modes.

What's Still Running From Version 4.0

Boothill returns in Phase 2

Boothill returns in Phase 2

Version 4.0 introduced a massive wave of content, including the new Planarcadia location, 2D platforming mini-games, the Cosmicon Collectivecard game, and the first Currency Wars: Zero Sums expansion. Players who haven't finished the 4.0 Trailblaze Mission or the Cosmicon, Roll On! and Ding! Arcadia Fun-Time Clock-In Essentials events should note those run through March 23, just before 4.1 launches.

Next Livestream Window

The next official Honkai: Star Rail preview livestream is expected around Friday, April 10, following the standard 12-days-before-update cadence. That broadcast will detail all banners and events coming in version 4.2. However, given the shortened 4.1 cycle, there is a possibility the 4.2 livestream shifts to Friday, April 17 instead.
