If Wolverine's constant scent trail prompts have been driving you up the wall, Insomniac Games finally has a fix. Update 1.001.006 for Marvel's Wolverine adds individual on/off toggles for three of the game's Senses-based guidance systems, giving players real control over how much hand-holding they want from Logan's supernatural perception.
The three senses you can now switch off
The new toggles target specific guidance features that players flagged as too intrusive:
- Whisky Bottle Scent Trails , the visual cues that guide you toward collectible whisky bottles
- Material Crate Audio Clues , the audio prompts that ping nearby crafting material crates
- Nightmare Door Roots , the environmental indicators pointing toward Nightmare Doors
Here's the thing: story-critical Senses still appear regardless of what you toggle off. Insomniac was careful to keep anything tied to narrative progression intact, so you're not going to accidentally miss a plot beat because you turned off the whisky trail. The toggles purely affect optional collectible and exploration guidance.
This is actually the second time Insomniac has addressed the Scent Trail issue. A previous hotfix reduced the visual intensity of Scent Trails after players complained they were too prominent. This update goes further by letting you cut them entirely.
Crash fixes and the bathroom sign situation
Beyond the Senses toggles, the patch addresses several crashes that Insomniac identified through crash logs and community reports. There's also a fix for a specific softlock in the mission "The One That Got Away," where players could get stuck while sliding down a tree.
Photo Mode gets some attention too. Misaligned claws in Photo Mode have been corrected, which matters more than it sounds if you've been trying to capture clean screenshots of Logan in action.
The patch also fixes an overlapping bathroom sign in the casino, caused by a UV mapping issue. That particular sign became a minor talking point after some players questioned whether it pointed to AI-generated assets in the game. Insomniac denied that claim directly and traced the problem to the mapping error, which is now resolved.
