Pokémon Go is getting changes to the Explorer Gadget, alongside a redesigned catch summary and visual adjustments.
Explorer Gadget changes
The Explorer Gadget was introduced in August 2026.
Automatic collection was previously associated with the Pokémon GO Plus+, a premium accessory. Explorer Gadget provides a free in-game option, although access and collection come with restrictions.
Catch results get a clearer readout
The collection changes come with a redesigned catch summary. After catching a Pokémon, you'll see a more detailed presentation of rewards and catch bonuses. A dedicated appraisal button will also reduce the number of taps needed to check a catch, putting that action closer to the result screen.

Clearer Pokémon catch rewards
Other changes affect map readability, encounters, and item effects:
- PokéStop color saturation is being adjusted for better clarity.
- Power Spot visits and Max Battle wins will no longer trigger a special wild encounter.
- Mystery Boxes and Coin Bags are getting improved surrounding visual effects.
November adds Groudon and Dynamax Trails
November's GO Pass features Groudon. Players on the free track can earn 400 PokéCoins, while Deluxe owners can earn another 1,000, bringing their total to 1,400. That gives this month's pass a higher PokéCoin offering than usual.
Later in November, Dynamax Trails will bring back Eternatus. Its wider selection includes nearly every previously introduced Dynamax Pokémon, excluding Legendary and Mythical Pokémon. The event will also increase the number of active Power Spots, and some catches will feature a special dynamic background.
Dynamax Trails begins November 16. Between Pokémon Go outings, you can browse the gaming guides for help with whatever else is in your rotation.
