Subway Surfers Adds bbno$ Character in Buenos Aires Update

Subway Surfers is adding Canadian rapper, singer, and songwriter bbno$ as a playable character as part of its next major update.

Developer SYBO announced the collaboration on September 10, with the bbno$ character becoming available through the Subway Showdown game mode from September 14 through October 4, 2026.

The update will also see Subway Surfers return to Buenos Aires, Argentina, as part of the game's World Tour event. Players will be able to run through the city's streets and landmarks alongside a group of art-focused surfers.

bbno$ Joins Subway Surfers

The addition of bbno$ continues Subway Surfers' series of collaborations with real-world musicians and celebrities. The artist joins a roster that has previously included performers such as Demi Lovato and J Balvin.

bbno$ will be available as a new character during the limited-time Subway Showdown event. The collaboration arrives as the artist completes his 2026 festival appearances and Internet Explorer Tour, which supports his 2025 self-titled album.

The Canadian artist first gained widespread attention with the 2019 viral track "Lalala," created with producer Y2K. He later found further success with "Edamame," featuring Rich Brian. According to SYBO, bbno$ has surpassed one billion Spotify streams across his music.

His recent releases include "burger," "why am i like this," and "diamonds are forever."

SYBO CEO Mathias Gredal Nørvig said the collaboration is intended to connect the game's long-running relationship with art and digital culture with bbno$'s internet-driven career.

Subway Surfers Returns to Buenos Aires

The World Tour event will take Subway Surfers back to Buenos Aires from September 14 to October 4.

The event will feature colorful city streets and recognizable cityscapes, with the update placing an emphasis on art and creativity. Players will also have access to several new pieces of content during the event.

The update introduces Santi Grafito, the latest Mega character. Additional seasonal characters, outfits, boards, and player profile items will also be available.

The Buenos Aires event therefore serves as more than a location change, with the new character and cosmetics forming part of a broader content update for the endless runner.

New Subway Surfers Collections Feature

One of the more substantial additions arriving with the update is the new Collections feature.

Launching on September 14, Collections will allow players to track the Subway Surfers content they have accumulated throughout nearly 15 years of updates. The feature will assign players a collection score based on the total amount of content they have unlocked.

Players can earn cosmetic rewards based on their collection progress, including tiered profile frames.

The feature gives longtime Subway Surfers players a way to keep track of characters, boards, outfits, and other items collected throughout the game's history.

Free Moon Board Arrives for Mid-Autumn Festival

Subway Surfers will also mark the Mid-Autumn Festival with a limited-time reward.

From September 21 through September 27, players will be able to claim the Moon Board for free in-game.

The seasonal reward will be available during the festival period, giving players another board to add to their collection.

Subway Surfers Continues Its Long-Running Updates

Subway Surfers launched in 2012 and has continued to receive regular updates and World Tour events for more than a decade.

SYBO says the game has surpassed 4.5 billion lifetime downloads and has more than 150 million monthly players. The studio has also expanded the franchise with titles including Subway Surfers City, Subway Surfers+, Subway Surfers Tag, and Blades of Brim.

The bbno$ collaboration and Buenos Aires World Tour event will arrive on September 14, with the new Collections system launching on the same day.

Subway Surfers is free to download on iOS, Android, and other supported platforms, with in-app purchases available.
