Mysten Labs has integrated Switchboard On-Demand into its Sui blockchain, bringing a customizable and permissionless oracle aggregator to the network. The integration gives developers improved access to real-time data solutions, with tailored scalability and efficiency for applications in gaming, decentralized finance, and other sectors.

Switchboard On-Demand Now Live on Sui

The move supports Sui's push to attract and retain game developers. Current gaming projects building on Sui include Xociety, Darktimes, E4C game series, and One Fight Arena. The blockchain has also drawn interest from esports organization Team Liquid, which relaunched its fan engagement platform, MyBlue, on Sui earlier this year.
Enhanced functionality for developers
Switchboard On-Demand pulls data from multiple sources — including Chainlink, Pyth, and Switchboard — and delivers a unified feed that developers can customize for their specific needs. Applications that rely on real-time data, such as prediction platforms and sports apps, benefit from faster and more reliable performance. Switchboard co-founder Chris Hermida said:
"Switchboard was one of the earlier oracles to be deployed on Sui in 2023, and our deepening partnership through the integration of On-Demand aligns with our goal to offer developers unmatched flexibility, security, and control over their data." The integration aims to enable more accurate and responsive experiences for users across decentralized applications built on Sui.

Impact on gaming and DeFi
The integration supports Sui's goal of delivering high-speed scaling solutions for developers, with end users benefiting from enhanced, data-driven experiences. Gaming and DeFi applications in particular stand to gain from more seamless and efficient data handling, improving functionality and user satisfaction.
Sui's focus on gaming throughout 2024 reflects its push to become a leading layer-1 network for blockchain applications. With partnerships like this one, Sui continues positioning itself as a platform for developers seeking flexible tools for building real-time applications.
