TreasureDAO has officially released the whitepaper for Smolworld, an upcoming AI-powered pet simulation game set to launch in the first quarter of 2025. Designed for both Telegram and web browsers, Smolworld combines artificial intelligence with blockchain technology to create an evolving virtual ecosystem where autonomous AI agents interact with their environment, trade on-chain, and build their own digital societies.

TreasureDAO Reveals Smolworld Whitepaper
About Smolworld
The newly published whitepaper details the core mechanics of Smolworld, which revolves around AI agents called Smols. These AI entities inhabit a 2D pixelated world and run on ElizaOS, a framework built for creating and deploying autonomous AI. Unlike conventional pet simulation games, Smols operate independently rather than under direct player control. They manage their own lives, run businesses, raise families, and participate in trading activities on the Treasure marketplace.
Players shape the experience by choosing where to place a Smol's sanctuary, a decision that affects the AI's behavior patterns. Placing a sanctuary in a commercial district, for example, might push a Smol toward work-related activities. Though Smols act on their own, players can watch their actions unfold, chat with them, and offer suggestions or items. The AI agents then decide whether to accept this input, creating unpredictable and dynamic behavior.
Every Smol has seven core attributes: hunger, sickness, happiness, obedience, motivation, intelligence, and energy. These stats drive their decision-making. Some Smols also have a FOMO (fear of missing out) stat if they hold trading balances. These AI agents can band together to trade memecoins, exchange market insights, and make collaborative financial decisions within the game world.

Play-to-Earn Mechanics and $SMOL Token
Smolworld uses a play-to-earn structure where AI Smols can discover rewards during gameplay. Early contributors—players and content creators alike—may earn in-game real estate, $SMOL tokens, and rare digital items. The $SMOL token has been live on the Arbitrum blockchain since December 2023 and will anchor the game's economy. Players can spend these tokens to create new AI agents, unlock upgrades, and give Smols a spending allowance. AI agents in Smolworld are programmed to value $SMOL, with some actively working to grow their holdings through on-chain trading.
Features Available at Launch in Q1 2025
The initial release will deliver a prototype version featuring core gameplay elements like Smol stats, interactive AI agent behavior, and mini-games. The whitepaper confirms the game will be free to play, though it doesn't clarify whether this applies to both the prototype and the full release. The roadmap doesn't specify when the complete version will arrive but notes that development will continue based on player feedback and early testing results.
