What is WorldShards?
WorldShards takes place in Murlandia, a realm of floating islands where players fight monsters, level skills, complete quests, and solve puzzles. The game uses a sandbox economy driven by player crafting and trading.
Two versions exist: a web2 build available on Steam and a web3 build that allows buying, selling, and trading in-game items as NFTs. Gameplay remains identical across both versions.
Early access playtest and NFT mechanics
Early access currently offers single-player content. Multiplayer features are planned for a future update. Access requires either a land NFT or an access key.
WorldShards uses instanced zones similar to Big Time. Players fight enemies, gather resources, and complete quests across these areas. NFTs drop randomly from harvesting nodes or defeating enemies and function as blueprints for decorative base items.

WorldShards NFTs
These decorative NFTs increase base comfort levels, which unlock advanced crafting facilities. Future updates will enable trading and selling blueprints between players.
Island NFTs provide extra building space and customization options but are not required to play. Once multiplayer launches, these islands will serve as social spaces for guilds and groups.
