WorldShards, the Sandbox MMORPG developed by Lowkick Studio and hosted on the Open Loot platform, is set to launch its complete in-game economy in December 2024. The update is a key step ahead of the game’s Token Generation Event (TGE), planned for early 2025.
Since its Early Access release in February 2024, WorldShards has attracted tens of thousands of players and built a community of over 300,000 active members. The game has also achieved $4 million in sales in 2024 through items such as Artifact Boxes, Mystery Island Boxes, and Founder’s Lootboxes. The upcoming in-game economy launch introduces several features:
1. Proxy Token Rewards
Players will earn Proxy Tokens by engaging with various gameplay mechanics. These tokens will function as the primary in-game currency for crafting and upgrading NFTs. Once the TGE occurs in 2025, Proxy Tokens will be convertible to game tokens at a 1:1 ratio.
2. Free 30-Day Trial Access
WorldShards is lifting its access code requirement, making the game accessible to all users through a 30-day trial period starting in December. Trial players can convert their accounts to permanent access if they meet specific in-game activity criteria.
3. Airdrop Campaign for Active Players
An airdrop campaign will reward all active players, including trial users, based on their activity levels. This approach ensures that participation is open to all, regardless of NFT ownership.
Additionally, full-access players will receive welcome bundles to share with friends, providing full game access and $30 worth of premium in-game currency. Players purchasing new welcome bundles will also receive bonus bundles to share.
