Xbox New Fallout Pip-Boy Controllers

Xbox has revealed two new Fallout-themed controllers that aim to bring the series’ signature Pip-Boy aesthetic directly into players’ hands. The Xbox Wireless Controller – Fallout Pip-Boy and the Xbox Elite Wireless Controller Series 2 – Fallout Pip-Boy both draw heavily from the in-universe device that Fallout characters rely on throughout their journeys. The designs incorporate the familiar green glow and interface elements long associated with the franchise, offering fans a controller that mirrors the gear used within the games and recent television adaptation.

A Design Inspired by the Pip-Boy

Xbox Product Marketing Manager Tristan Munley noted that previous Fallout controllers leaned heavily on Vault Boy for visual identity. The team shifted direction this time to create a design that more closely resembles the actual Pip-Boy, including its warm green color palette and recognizable HUD icons. The goal was to provide a controller that allows players to feel connected to the same tech their characters depend on in the series.

The standard Fallout Pip-Boy controller includes a green metallic D-pad and a custom top case that references the series’ S.P.E.C.I.A.L. attributes. The design maintains Fallout’s retro-futuristic look without deviating from the familiar tone of the franchise. The controller is available for pre-order for a limited time at the Microsoft Store.

Broader Customization Through Xbox Design Lab

Players who want deeper personalization can use Xbox Design Lab to tailor both the standard Wireless Controller and the Elite Wireless Controller Series 2. The Fallout top case provides a black base that allows fans to select colors associated with notable factions such as the Brotherhood of Steel, NCR, Minutemen, or Tunnel Snakes. Customization extends to metallic triggers, color accents, and even optional engraving at no cost for a limited time during the holiday season.

Compatibility remains consistent with other recent Xbox controllers. The device supports Xbox Wireless and Bluetooth, allowing seamless connections across Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, PC, iOS, Android, and cloud gaming platforms. A built-in share button gives players quick access to capture gameplay moments.

Premium Features with the Elite Series 2 Edition

Players who prefer additional control options and higher-end features can opt for the Xbox Elite Wireless Controller Series 2 – Fallout Pip-Boy. The Elite model includes adjustable-tension thumbsticks, a rubberized grip that wraps around the controller, and shorter hair trigger locks for more precise input. Additional paddles and expanded button mapping through the Xbox Accessories app allow players to create multiple controller profiles and switch between them depending on gameplay needs.

The Fallout Pip-Boy controllers are available now, offering both standard and high-performance options for fans looking to bring a piece of the wasteland into their gaming setup.
