In Quarantine Zone: The Last Check, symptoms determine whether your quarantine holds or falls apart. Each survivor at your checkpoint represents a potential threat, and your survival depends entirely on reading their symptoms correctly and acting fast.
Understanding Symptom Categories
Quarantine Zone organizes symptoms into three distinct tiers. Your decisions must align with these tiers if you want to keep the zone secure.
Good to Go - Signs that appear concerning but carry no infection risk. Survivors displaying only these can enter safely.
Possibly Infected - Warning signs that hint at infection without proving it. Route these survivors to quarantine for observation.
Infected - Definitive infection markers. Turn away anyone showing these symptoms immediately.
Never evaluate symptoms in isolation unless they're clear infection markers. The real danger comes from overlooking combinations of subtle warning signs.
Good to Go Symptoms
The game treats these symptoms as infection-free. They pose zero threat to your quarantine when they appear alone.
Yellow Eyes
Yellow eyes look alarming but have no connection to the zombie virus. This coloration stems from genetics, exhaustion, or environmental factors. When yellow eyes are the sole abnormality and vitals check out, let the survivor through.
Freckles
Freckles are cosmetic features with zero infection significance at any point in the game. Anyone with freckles and nothing else should pass your checkpoint.
Bruises
Normal bruises show up as blue or purple marks with smooth texture. They signal physical injury, not disease. Bruises without necrosis, fever, or abnormal vitals are harmless.

Possibly Infected Symptoms
This tier represents your hardest judgment calls. These symptoms stop short of proving infection, but they raise serious red flags. Anyone displaying these belongs in quarantine, not inside your safe zone.
Eye and Skin Indicators
Conjunctivitis
Redness or irritation in the eyes that doesn't reach full red-eye infection levels. Could be a common illness or an early stage of something worse.Skin Cuts or Scratches
Cuts might be innocent wounds, but they can also mask bite marks or exposure sites. When a cut lacks a clear explanation, treat it as suspicious.Red Bruises or Skin Irritation
These look more inflamed than typical bruises and shouldn't be mistaken for regular trauma marks.

Temperature and Pulse Ranges
Vital signs give you some of the most dependable early infection warnings.
Elevated vitals might stem from stress, fatigue, or early infection. The game classifies this range as uncertain, not safe.

Respiratory and Behavioral Symptoms
These symptoms are deliberately inconsistent. Sometimes they mean nothing. Sometimes they're the first sign of a breakdown.
Sneezing
Hiccups
Coughing
Sick or strained breath
Mild breathing irregularities
None of these alone guarantee infection, but you can't afford to ignore them. This is exactly what quarantine exists for.
Neurological Warning Signs
When you test with the reflex hammer, the survivor reacts too hard or too fast. This points to early neurological disruption. Hyper reflex doesn't prove infection, but it's one of the strongest reasons to quarantine someone even when their vitals appear normal.
Infected Symptoms
These symptoms prove infection. Anyone showing even one of these gets denied entry on the spot. Quarantine won't save them at this point.
Visual Infection Markers
Red Eyes - Complete red-eye discoloration marks late-stage infection.
Green Skin - A sickly green hue signals systemic infection.
Necrosis - Dead or decaying tissue. Looks dry, cracked, and dark, unlike smooth bruising.
Bite Mark - A visible bite wound confirms infection without question.
