Raccoin has over 100 chips crammed into its roguelike coin-pusher loop, and most of them are either niche, class-locked, or just not worth your time. The ones that matter, though, can completely reshape a run. Knowing which chips to grab early, which to hold for mid-game scaling, and which combos to build around is the difference between a solid score and a run that falls apart in round six.

What are chips and how do they work in Raccoin?

Chips are permanent passive items you equip to your Cards. Unlike Prizes or special coins, chips stay active across rounds and deliver ongoing bonuses, usually in the form of Score Rate (SR) boosts or economic advantages. With over 100 chips available, many are tied to specific characters or build styles, so the list below focuses on chips that either perform well across multiple setups or are so powerful in the right context that you should always take them when they appear.

Treasury

Treasury is the only Epic chip on this list, and it earns that spot. It gives you +0.1 SR per coin in your hand, which sounds modest until you pair it with Piggy Bank. Save your regular coins across the first few rounds and you can walk into mid-game with a stack of coins generating a ridiculous SR bonus just from sitting in your hand. Prioritize this one above other Epic chips like the watches or Year-end Bonus.

Bad Encyclopedia

Most SR chips reset between rounds. Bad Encyclopedia does not. It gives +2 SR permanently for every baddie you clear across the entire run, which means it compounds over time in a way almost nothing else does. In later rounds where Bad Coins appear more frequently, this chip turns a problem into a genuine advantage.

Raccoon Economics

Every Exchange you skip gives you +1.5 SR with this chip active. Playing as the Manager starts you with 6 Exchanges, which translates to +9 SR immediately. Grab the Paper Card (your first card) and you push that to 10.5 SR total. For Manager builds, this chip alone can carry the early and mid rounds without much additional support.

Hamster

Think of Hamster as the Prize-based equivalent of Engineerat. It scales SR with the number of Prizes you have, and since the Spin Wheel generates Prizes regularly, you'll ramp this faster than you might expect. Equip the Prize Card for an extra Prize slot, then look for the Prize that multiplies your Prize count, and Hamster's bonus climbs fast.

Engineerat

Engineerat gives +3 SR per Gadget in play. Early in a run you might only have one or two Gadgets, so the bonus starts small. Later, once you pick up items like the UFO Caller or the Cooking Pot, the SR gain becomes substantial. Pair this with the Sketch Card, which duplicates one Gadget per round, and the scaling gets out of hand quickly.

Piggy Bank

Available early through the Trader or Manager, Piggy Bank saves every regular coin you do not spend. If you manage to clear the first few rounds using only special coins, you can enter round five with dozens of saved coins. That stockpile feeds Treasury, helps push lines, and supports any build that wants a large coin count. A straightforward chip with broad utility.

Landlord

Landlord boosts your Ticket savings, which directly funds your Shop access. The key is timing: get this chip early or at least by mid-run, then hold off on spending Tickets aggressively. Prizes that reward Tickets based on coins in a specific board area pair well here, compounding your currency gains over several rounds.

Furry Clip

This one is class-specific. Furry Clip is built for the Biologist, improving SR by 0.4 for each Animal Coin sitting in your Clip. The Biologist's kit revolves around Animal and Plant coins interacting with each other, but once your Clip is expanded and you're not burning through every special coin you collect, the Animal Coins sitting idle start generating real SR. The Biologist is not the strongest class according to tier list rankings, but Furry Clip makes it functional at higher round counts.

Folding Screen

Folding Screen is situational and slow to get going. It rewards you for scoring coins on a specific side of the board, and the payoff grows as rounds get longer. With the right setup, including a healthy supply of regular coins and supporting effects, it can deliver around +15 SR. Do not take this early expecting immediate returns; it is a mid-to-late chip that rewards patience.

Police Light

Police Light is a one-time protection chip. When the Shop shows an upcoming Bad Coin round, Police Light prevents any baddie from activating, then destroys itself. You burn the chip to skip one potentially run-ending round. That trade is worth it in the later stages when a single bad round can wipe out a strong position. It is not a scaling chip, but having it equipped when a Bad Coin round appears is pure relief.

Which chips should you prioritize first?

The answer depends on your class, but a few chips are worth grabbing in almost any run. Treasury and Piggy Bank form the best economic foundation. Bad Encyclopedia is the strongest long-term SR chip because its bonus never resets. Raccoon Economics is a must-take for Manager runs.

For class-specific builds, Furry Clip is the Biologist's best SR chip, and Engineerat or Hamster work well for anyone building around Gadgets or Prizes respectively.

The chips you skip matter as much as the ones you take. Folding Screen and Police Light are not chips you build around; they slot in when the situation calls for them. Everything else on this list can anchor a run if you find it early enough.
