Anime Mysterious is a lane-battler tower defense game on Roblox that draws heavily from the same formula as Anime Rangers, putting anime-inspired units on both offense and defense. The roster is already packed with DPS monsters, economy specialists, and support units that can swing entire runs when used correctly. Getting the right units early is the difference between breezing through late-game content and stalling out on mid-game waves.
The rankings below cover every available unit across DPS, utility, and farm roles. S-Tier holds the current meta picks that carry teams in the hardest content. A-Tier units are strong alternatives and secondary DPS options that hold their own in most modes. B-Tier units need buffs to compete at the top level but remain playable through the mid-game. Ryu is the unit most teams are built around right now. His Deferred Judgment passive means he gets stronger the longer a run goes, and the slowing effect on enemies gives your other units more time to deal damage. Pair him with Sukuno (Mohoraga) and Jogo (Six-eye) and you have a trio that can farm Yuta without much else needed.
Yuto (Pure Love) sits alongside Ryu as a top-tier DPS. The passive that copies damage stats is what pushes him into meta territory, and combining him with the Cursed Ring item drops his skill SPA significantly, letting him fire off abilities far more frequently.

Fammy deserves a special mention here. On paper she looks like a straightforward A-Tier unit, but if you are running Wool (Limit OFF), Fammy becomes a required piece of the puzzle, particularly in Raid content. Do not skip her just because she is not a pure DPS.
Itacho (Susano'o) has an unusual playstyle built around selling units for team buffs. It works well in most modes but falls off in specific stage layouts where selling is not optimal, which is the main reason he sits in A-Tier rather than S.

None of the B-Tier units are worthless, but all three need balance adjustments to compete with the units above them. Last Heir (Awakened) is the most frustrating of the three because the EVO materials required to upgrade him are harder to farm than his stats justify.
Economy units sit outside the standard combat tiers because their value is measured in Yen generation rather than damage output. The three dedicated farm units in Anime Mysterious are Spood (Yen), Bulme, and School Girl.
Spood (Yen) is the top farm pick. Both Bulme and School Girl carry a Max Yen bonus, which makes them useful for pushing your economy ceiling, but Spood's raw Yen generation is what makes her the default choice for economy-focused builds.
If you are just starting out, the priority list looks different from the meta picks above. The best beginner options are Barate and Sasuko for Epic-tier DPS, Spood for economy, and Kizao or Tojo as accessible Legendary options.
The gacha system uses a currency for summons, and Mythic units have low drop rates, so do not expect to pull Sukuno or Ryu immediately. Build around what you have and use the beginner units to push through early content while saving for higher rarity pulls.
The strongest team structure in the current meta runs two or three S-Tier DPS units alongside Wool (Limit OFF) as a support buffer. The core trio of Ryu, Sukuno (Mohoraga), and Jogo (Six-eye) is the most efficient setup for farming Yuta and clearing harder content.
For Raid specifically, swap in Fammy to activate Wool's Limit OFF effect. Outside of Raid, Fammy is a solid A-Tier pick but not mandatory.
Rarity does not automatically determine team value. Spood (Yen) is an Epic unit sitting in the top tier purely because of what she contributes to the economy loop. Build your team around roles first, then upgrade individual units as your pulls allow.
Anime Mysterious sits comfortably in the same genre space as games like Anime Squadrons and Anime Rangers. The lane-battler twist, where units can switch between aggressive and defensive roles, adds a layer of decision-making that pure tower defense games do not have.
