Dr. Scramble is back in Steal an Egg on Roblox, and this time he's angrier, piloting a full mecha suit after Ben ruined his mind-control plans in Part 1. The Part 2 event drops a 4-phase boss fight that resets every 30 minutes, rewards you with exclusive event pets, and gives Mastery points toward 22 unlock milestones. Here's everything you need to know to clear every phase and claim the rarest rewards.
Where does the Dr. Scramble boss spawn?
The portal to Dr. Scramble's laboratory appears once every 30 minutes on a server timer. One source places it in the Titan Temple biome, while another places it in the Forest Biome, the exact spawn point may vary by server or update version, so check both areas when the timer is up. The portal closes once the fight ends, so you get at most 2 attempts per hour per server.
Fighting in a private server is a valid option if you want a solo attempt without competition. Public servers are better for raw damage output since more players means the boss goes down faster, and damage dealt determines how many Samples you earn.

How to defeat Dr. Scramble
The fight splits into four distinct phases. Rushing through them without knowing what to expect will get you knocked around repeatedly, so read each phase before you step through that portal.
Phase 1: the mech attacks
Dr. Scramble opens the fight inside his mecha, throwing out a rotation of attacks. Every attack telegraphs its impact zone with a red marker on the ground. Step out of any red zone and you avoid the hit — that single rule covers almost everything in this phase.
Here's the full attack list:
- Mech Charge: The mech accelerates directly at players in a straight line. The red zone appears in front of it. Move sideways.
- Toxic Crocodile: Dr. Scramble releases a crocodile that locks onto a random player. You cannot damage it. Dodge its attacks and wait for it to despawn.
- Scramble Drones: Drones deploy and track players. Unlike the crocodile, drones can be destroyed with your bat. Prioritize them.
- Lasers and Ground Smash: The mech pauses briefly before firing lasers or slamming the ground. Use that pause to create distance or get behind the boxes scattered around the arena.
At fixed intervals, the mech overheats and locks up. That window is your main damage opportunity. Swing your bat as fast as possible while it's immobile. Stronger bats deal more damage per hit, so equip the best one in your inventory before entering the portal.

Phase 2: drones join the fight
The mech takes enough damage to weaken, and Dr. Scramble responds by calling in drone reinforcements. The core mechanics stay the same as Phase 1 — dodge red zones, swing during overheats, but now drones are actively swarming you. Clear them with your bat whenever they appear. Ignoring them is a fast way to take unnecessary chip damage.
Phase 3: destroy the exposed core
Once the mech's HP hits zero, it explodes and exposes the core with Dr. Scramble still inside. This phase plays completely differently from the first two.
The core locks onto one player at a time and charges at them. When you get targeted, a notification appears on your screen. Your job is to run toward one of the blue towers positioned around the lab. When the core gets close enough to a tower, it stuns and freezes for a few seconds. That frozen window is the only time you can deal damage to it.
You need to deplete the core's health bar three times to finish Phase 3. Each cycle follows the same pattern: get targeted, lead the core to a blue tower, hit it while it's stunned, repeat.

Final phase: chase Dr. Scramble down
With the core destroyed, Dr. Scramble abandons all his equipment and just runs. He has no attacks in this phase. Chase him across the arena and land exactly 3 hits with your bat. The third hit ends the fight and sends him flying out of the lab.
What rewards do you get from the Dr. Scramble event?
Defeating Dr. Scramble solo pays out 1,750 Samples per win. In group fights, your individual Sample count scales with how much damage you contributed, so dealing more hits directly increases your payout. Samples spend at the Sample Shop for various items.
Separately, every kill adds 1 Boss Mastery point. There are 22 Mastery milestones total, and each one unlocks a unique Egg or Pet. To claim rewards, click the green test tube icon on the left side of your screen to open the Boss Mastery menu, then hit the green Claim button on any completed milestone.
Here are all 10 confirmed Egg and Pet rewards across the milestones:
- Biohazard Egg
- Experiment Egg
- Scrambled Biohazard Egg
- Unstable Egg
- Eye Bat #021 (Legendary)
- Scrambled Experiment Egg
- Citadel Snail #007 (Mythic)
- Uncoiled Armadillo (Cosmic)
- Toxic Crocodile (Secret)
- Pink Dragon Experiment #010 (Eternal)
The remaining 12 milestones reward earlier-tier eggs and pets that feed into your income loop. If you want to understand which pets are worth prioritizing for income, the eggs, pets, and income rates guide breaks down every pet's value so you know exactly which Mastery rewards to push toward first.
Tips for maximizing your Mastery grind
The 30-minute respawn timer is fixed, so the ceiling on daily Mastery gains comes down to how many sessions you can play. A few things that make each attempt count:
- Equip your strongest bat before entering. Damage output directly affects Sample payouts and how fast phases end.
- Coordinate with server players. More participants means phases end faster and you spend less time in the arena per run.
- Don't skip Phase 3 mechanics. Trying to hit the core outside of the tower stun window wastes time and bat swings.
- Private servers work. The boss spawns in private servers, so solo grinding is viable if you want full control over the fight pace.
