Overview

Roco Kingdom is Morefun Studios' take on the open-world creature-collecting genre, set across the Continent of Carosia where players take on the role of Rocos. The goal is straightforward: explore a living world, forge pacts with Jinies (the native creatures of Carosia), and build a life that mixes monster-catching with school life, cooperative adventure, and competitive PvP. What separates it from the obvious comparisons is the degree to which Jinies are procedurally distinct rather than palette-swapped copies.

Every Jini in the game varies in height, size, and weight, and rare variant forms push that further with prismatic, chromatic, and nightmare-corrupted appearances. With 400+ Jinies confirmed in the roster, the gap between two players' collections can be genuinely significant. Morefun Studios has also confirmed full cross-platform support across PC (Steam), Xbox, PlayStation, Android, and iOS, with no paywall separating platforms.

What makes Jini collecting different here?

Most creature-collecting games treat rarity as a stat gate. Roco Kingdom treats it as a visual identity system. The same Jini species can appear in multiple physical configurations, meaning two players who catch the same Jini may end up with creatures that look and feel distinct. Rare forms like nightmare-corrupted variants add a darker visual layer to what is otherwise a colorful, magic-themed world.

Key features of the Jini system:

  • 400+ collectible Jinies across the Continent of Carosia
  • Individual variation in height, size, and weight per creature
  • Prismatic, chromatic, and nightmare-corrupted rare variants
  • Friendship pact system that ties Jinies to specific players
  • Coordinated matching costumes for player and Jini

Turn-based PvP and the 18-class counter system

The competitive side of Roco Kingdom runs on turn-based PvP duels with equalized Jini levels, which means the outcome depends on strategy rather than grind time. The 18-class counter ecosystem creates a type-matchup structure where elemental knowledge and skill trait mastery decide fights. Leveling your Jini to the cap before a rival won't hand you the win automatically, which keeps the PvP scene accessible without making it trivial.

Progression through the Jini Battle Master ranking system rewards consistent play, and the equalized format means any Jini in a player's collection is technically viable in competition. That's a meaningful design choice in a genre where endgame PvP often collapses into a small meta roster.

Magic Academy and cooperative exploration

Beyond collecting and battling, Roco Kingdom builds out a Magic Academy system where players choose a school, attend Outdoor Classroom sessions, and compete in the Academy Points Tournament. Seasonal school events tie the social calendar to the game's progression loop, giving players recurring reasons to engage outside of standard exploration.

Cooperative play in Carosia goes beyond simply grouping up. Two players can co-ride a single Jini across the world, share gathering rewards, and split battle EXP while catching Jinies together. The shared-reward structure reduces the friction that typically makes co-op feel like a compromise in creature-collecting games, where one player usually ends up carrying the other through content they've already cleared.

Cosmetics and cross-platform identity

The twin-style costume system lets players match their outfits directly to their Jini's appearance, unlocking a Magic Touch effect that marks the bond visually. This feeds into Roco Kingdom's broader identity as a game where personal expression runs parallel to creature mastery. Across PC, console, and mobile, the same character and Jini roster carry over, making the cross-platform promise genuinely functional rather than a footnote in the feature list.
