Overview
Alteredblood+ is an Early Access movement FPS platformer developed and published by TRUEWORLD STUDIOS for Windows on Steam. Shooting, resource management, and traversal connect through the blood that combat spreads across arena surfaces.
The design draws on Doom and Quake’s movement traditions and Splatoon’s surface-based combat. Its central tactical concern extends beyond landing shots: attacks help create the conditions for recovery and stronger weapon effects, making arena positioning part of the offensive toolkit.
How does blood shape combat and movement?
Blood restores health and ammunition and activates the Altered state. Players absorb it by sliding, dashing, or stomping through splatter, while standing in blood changes both the character and their weapons. Each weapon has its own Altered effects and interactions with movement.
Damage sends blood onto surfaces behind and around an enemy. Kills spread more through scattered gibs. Choosing a firing angle therefore also helps determine where useful blood appears, linking target placement to the next opportunity for recovery.
The Altered character fights faster, jumps higher, and can pass through obstacles. Traversal also supports several classic FPS techniques:
- Bunny hopping
- Air strafing
- Surfing
- Trimping
- Rocket jumping
Classic and Modern air-control settings provide different movement setups. The combination of ground-based blood interactions and airborne techniques creates a recurring positioning decision: where to travel next, and where to make contact with a blood-covered surface.
Blood and player colors are customizable.

A reaper in MOTHER’s depths
MOTHER is a self-replicating megastructure that consumes almost the entire observable universe. Humanity occupies the remaining space, cutting into her structure and feeding on her blood.
The player character serves as MOTHER’s reaper, hunting the humans she treats as parasites. The premise places the protagonist on the side of the entity consuming existence, making humanity the target instead of the civilization being defended.
The blood resource connects that setting to the action. Humans feed on MOTHER, while her reaper uses the blood spilled during combat to continue the hunt.
Story missions move between confined encounters and expansive spaces.

Story progression and Gravekeeper survival
The Early Access 0.1 campaign contains three story episodes spanning six missions. A hub provides mission selection and difficulty settings. The combat roster includes six enemy types with Altered variants and one chapter boss.
Four weapons and a knife form the arsenal, each with distinct Altered mechanics. Story progression unlocks weapons for use in Gravekeeper, a wave-survival mode with three arenas. The campaign introduces equipment through progression; Gravekeeper puts those unlocks to work against repeated enemy waves.
Online global and friends leaderboards cover every mode, adding competitive benchmarks to mission attempts and survival runs. Gravekeeper concentrates the movement FPS systems into sustained arena combat, where maintaining access to blood supports both the ammunition supply and the health needed to keep fighting.
