Apex Legends Power Trip Event: Wildcard ...

What is the Apex Legends Power Trip event?

Apex Legends is running the Power Trip event from June 2 to June 23, 2026, and it centers almost entirely on Wildcard getting a serious overhaul. The mode already stripped out backpacks, helmets, and separate healing items in favor of automatic health regen outside combat. Power Trip takes that experimental foundation and layers on nine distinct round modifiers that can flip the rules of an entire match in seconds. The map situation is wild too: Kings Canyon, Olympus, and Broken Moon rotate every 15 minutes within a single Wildcard session.

All nine Power Trip Wildcard modifiers explained

Respawn confirmed nine modifiers for this update, each changing match flow in a meaningfully different way. Here is the complete breakdown:

Which legends benefit most from Small Fry?

Small Fry is the modifier worth thinking about hardest before you queue. Gibraltar and Caustic both carry a 15% damage reduction passive specifically because their large hitboxes make them easier targets than medium-frame legends. Apply the hitbox compression from Small Fry and that primary disadvantage disappears while the damage reduction passive stays in place. You end up with a tank-class legend that is suddenly as hard to hit as a Wraith.

Revenant is the more interesting case. He sits in the top five legend picks for Apex Predator-tier players because his aggressive mobility and ultimate are genuinely oppressive. The only real check on that aggression is his tall, easily targetable model. Compress his hitbox and that check is gone. Even in a casual playlist, a miniaturized Revenant with full offensive tools is a legitimate outlier worth watching.

How does Crouching Camo change the game?

Invisibility Crouch (listed in the modifier pool as Crouching Camo) grants full visual stealth while a player is stationary or moving in a crouch. This is not partial concealment or a shimmer effect based on the descriptions available. It is full invisibility tied entirely to your movement state.

The practical implication is that any building, corner, or piece of cover that already slowed you down now potentially hides an invisible player. The modifier rewards patience and punishes aggressive pushes into enclosed spaces. Teams running legends with passive healing or strong close-range weapons will get the most out of rounds where Crouching Camo is active.

For players who already enjoy Wraith's void-phasing and portal positioning, Crouching Camo rounds feel like a natural extension of that playstyle. The difference is that every legend gets the tool, so the advantage goes to whoever uses it more deliberately.

Map rotation: why 15-minute swaps matter

The map cycling every 15 minutes between Kings Canyon, Olympus, and Broken Moon is a bigger deal than it sounds. Each map has meaningfully different vertical geometry and rotation paths. Wildcard already removes standard looting, so the map you are on determines which positioning strategies are available. A team that fights well on Broken Moon's open terrain may struggle when the rotation drops them into Kings Canyon's tight corridors mid-match.

The practical advice here is to treat each map transition like a mini-reset. Your current positioning advantage may not translate, and the modifier active at the time of the swap can compound that disorientation significantly.

What is wrong with the Replicator system?

The current perk acquisition method requires players to physically navigate Kings Canyon to find teal Replicators and craft their desired modifiers. This creates a constant tension with everything Wildcard is supposed to be: a fast, combat-focused mode where looting is already removed from the equation.

The irony is that the standard legend upgrade UI, which Wildcard does not use at all, sits completely idle with its keybindings unassigned. Moving perk selection into that existing menu at the start of each round would remove the map-traversal friction entirely. The infrastructure already exists. Players would spend less time running to craft stations and more time in the gunfights the mode is built around.

This is the loudest piece of community feedback surrounding the Power Trip update, and it is a fair criticism. The modifier system is genuinely interesting. The delivery mechanism undermines it.

Power Trip cosmetics and event rewards

Beyond the gameplay changes, the event includes Legendary skins for Octane, Fuse, Wraith, Bangalore, and Lifeline, all carrying a bio-enhanced visual theme that fits the experimental stim concept. Weapon skins cover the Flatline, Havoc, Charge Rifle, Prowler, Rampage, and Mozambique at Legendary tier, with Epic skins for the Hemlok, Mastiff, and Spitfire.

Ash gets a Prestige Skin with three upgrade levels, a custom Finisher, and a unique Dive Trail. Weekly challenges unlock Thematic Packs tied to Ash (Week 1), Conduit (Week 2), and Vantage (Week 3). Daily event challenges generate Vials that feed into the Power Trip Reward Shop, which includes an Epic Gibraltar skin in phase 1 and an Epic Gibraltar Banner Frame in phase 2.

If you play Octane or Fuse regularly, both have strong event skins this time around. The Octane ability and movement guide and Fuse explosives guide are worth a read before you commit to either in Wildcard, since their kits interact differently with modifiers like Explosive and Adrenaline Rush.

Patch notes fixes included with Power Trip

Respawn bundled several fixes into the Power Trip update. Xbox voice comms are re-enabled. Server crashes and stability issues have been addressed. Players now receive the correct XP when respawning a teammate from a deathbox. Enemy health bars, PS5 performance mode settings, Switch and PS5 graphic settings, Axle ability names, Axle's Ultimate targeting, Crypto drone teleporting, and Gibraltar's Tactical protection against his own Ultimate while healing all received corrections.

FPS drops and stuttering on specific hardware are still being investigated, so that fix has not shipped yet.

For a full breakdown of every legend currently worth running in Wildcard and standard modes, the Apex Legends guides collection covers individual legend kits in detail so you can build a squad that handles whatever modifier the round throws at you.
