DAVE THE DIVER / Nintendo eShop

Bancho's Grill is the beating heart of the Into the Jungle expansion, and filling out its menu is both the best way to earn money and one of the most satisfying things to do in DAVE THE DIVER. The expansion brings dozens of new dishes tied to jungle fish, exotic herbs, fruits, and some genuinely unusual creatures. Knowing what you need before you dive saves a lot of backtracking.

How does recipe unlocking work in Into the Jungle?

Every fish and ingredient you collect in the jungle biome has at least one recipe attached to it. The simplest ones unlock automatically the moment you bring the ingredient back. More complex dishes require Artisan Flames, which are research upgrades you spend to unlock multi-ingredient recipes at Bancho's Grill. A handful of recipes are locked behind Rank Up milestones with specific animals like the Monkey and the Bird-of-Paradise, so progressing those relationships opens up better dishes over time.

Three dishes are available as unlimited default options from the start: Papaya Salad, Coconut, and Mango Shake. These never run out and give you a floor to work from on day one.

Artisan Flame recipes: what do you need?

Once you start putting Artisan Flames into research, a large wave of multi-ingredient dishes opens up. These tend to be the more profitable plates, so they are worth targeting as soon as possible. Here is every recipe that requires at least one Artisan Flame.

What recipes require Rank Up milestones?

Some dishes only become available after you raise your relationship rank with specific jungle animals. The Monkey and the Bird-of-Paradise are the two animals tied to recipe unlocks so far, and each requires you to also spend one Artisan Flame on top of the rank requirement.

Is there a VIP recipe in Into the Jungle?

Yes. Stir-fried Crocodile Tail is currently the only confirmed VIP recipe in the expansion. It requires Black Caiman Tail, Thai Chili (2), and Palm Sugar, and it unlocks through the VIP guest Bonita. VIP dishes tend to be high-ticket items on the menu, so keeping Bonita satisfied is worth the effort.

Which ingredients come up most often?

After going through the full recipe list, a few ingredients show up across multiple dishes. Stocking these consistently saves a lot of diving time.

  • Lemongrass appears in at least 8 recipes, from simple grills to soups and satay
  • Coconut Milk is needed for 6 dishes including the Steamed Tricolor Discus and Piranha Head Soup
  • Thai Chili shows up in soups, stews, and the VIP Crocodile Tail dish
  • Kaffir Lime Leaf is required for four different recipes
  • Fish Sauce appears in both simple and complex preparations
  • Calamansi is used in the Banana Flower Salad (5 required), Grilled Mud Carp with Herbs, and Black Caiman Taco

Prioritizing these on each dive keeps the grill running without constant ingredient gaps.
