Steam Community :: Disney Dreamlight Valley

Disney Dreamlight Valley just got a whole new world to explore, and Honeyglow Woods is unlike anything the game has added before. This region arrives as part of a dedicated Adventure Pack rather than a standard DLC drop or free update, which means the process for getting there is completely different from anything you've done in the valley before. If you've purchased the pack and can't figure out where to go next, here's exactly how to reach Honeyglow Woods and start exploring its biomes.

How do you get to Honeyglow Woods?

The short answer: you travel through a magical Tree Portal that you grow yourself. Unlike most areas in the game, Honeyglow Woods does not connect directly to the main valley map. It exists as its own separate world, more comparable to the Realms you visit through the Dream Castle than to DLC areas like Storybook Vale or Wishblossom Ranch. The key difference is scale. Honeyglow Woods is significantly larger and looks much more like a full valley region than a contained Realm.

To get there, you need to grow the Tree Portal first. Here's the full process from start to finish.

How to grow the Honeyglow Woods Tree Portal

Step 1: Purchase the Honeyglow Woods Adventure Pack

Access to this region is locked behind the Honeyglow Woods Adventure Pack, which is a paid DLC purchase. You cannot visit the area without it. Once you've bought the pack, make sure it's fully installed before continuing.

Step 2: Collect the Tree Sprout from your mailbox

After installing the pack, head to any mailbox placed near one of your houses in the valley. You'll find a mysterious box waiting for you inside. Open it to receive the Tree Sprout, which is the key item you need to create the portal.

Step 3: Place the Tree Sprout from your Furniture Menu

This step trips up a lot of players. The Tree Sprout does not go in the ground like a regular crop. Instead, you place it through your Furniture Menu, the same way you'd place a decorative item or structure. Once you set it down, a cutscene plays showing it grow into the full Tree Portal.

Where exactly is Honeyglow Woods located?

Honeyglow Woods does not sit within the main valley or attach to any existing biome. It's a fully disconnected world, accessible only through the Tree Portal. Think of it like the Dream Castle Realms in terms of how it connects to the rest of the game, but with the visual depth and scale of a proper valley region. You won't stumble into it by exploring the map.

Can you fast travel to Honeyglow Woods?

Yes, and the fast travel system handles it cleanly. The game's teleportation menu now includes a dedicated Honeyglow Woods category, listing each biome you've unlocked within the region. At the start, only Drowsybloom Acre is available. As you progress through Honeyglow Woods' main storyline, additional biomes open up, giving you more fast travel destinations.

You can also fast travel back out from Honeyglow Woods to the main valley or any other unlocked region, so you're never stranded.

What's different about Honeyglow Woods compared to other DLC areas?

The biggest distinction is how you access it. Standard DLC areas and free biomes all connect to the main valley map. Honeyglow Woods sits completely outside that structure, which is why the Tree Portal system exists in the first place. The portal itself can be repositioned freely, so you're not locked into a fixed entry point on the map. That flexibility is a genuine quality-of-life improvement over how some earlier content handled world transitions.

The Adventure Pack format also means the storyline and characters tied to Honeyglow Woods are self-contained within the pack, separate from the base game's ongoing narrative threads.

If you're working through the broader Disney Dreamlight Valley guides collection, you'll find walkthroughs for everything from unlocking new characters to completing tricky quests. For Parks Fest content specifically, the Playground Games quest guide covers how to decorate three valley biomes for Woody and earn the Toy Block rewards. And if you're still working on adding characters to your valley before jumping into Honeyglow Woods, the Pocahontas unlock guide walks you through the full Whispers in the Wind quest from start to finish.
