EA Sports FC 27 has officially revealed its top 27-rated men's and women's players ahead of the September 25 worldwide release, and the list tells a clear story: the 2026 World Cup rewrote the pecking order. Erling Haaland climbed one point to 91 OVR after scoring seven goals for Norway. Kylian Mbappé held his 91 OVR while becoming the all-time leading World Cup scorer with 22 goals. Below them, a cluster of 90-rated stars and a few surprising drops make this one of the more eventful ratings reveals in recent years.
Who are the highest-rated men's players in EA FC 27?
Haaland and Mbappé share the top spot at 91 OVR, the only two players in the men's game to hit that mark. Mbappé's rating is unchanged from EA FC 26, while Haaland's one-point rise reflects his breakout World Cup tournament on U.S. soil.
Nine players sit at 90 OVR, forming the densest tier in the top 27. Rodri (Manchester City) holds that mark as Spain captain and current Ballon d'Or holder. Ousmane Dembélé (PSG) joins him at 90 after a strong season that earned him the Ballon d'Or. Lamine Yamal and Pedri both represent Barcelona at 90, while Jude Bellingham and Thibaut Courtois keep Real Madrid well represented. Harry Kane and Michael Olise round out Bayern Munich's presence in that tier, and Vitinha earns PSG a third entry at 90.
Top men's ratings in EA FC 27
The 89-rated group carries some notable names. Lionel Messi jumps from 86 to 89 following his World Cup performances with Argentina, a three-point climb that few would have predicted after his rating fell in EA FC 26. Vinícius Júnior sits at 89 for Real Madrid, while PSG's Champions League-winning squad contributes Khvicha Kvaratskhelia, Nuno Mendes, and Willian Pacho at that tier. Gianluigi Donnarumma earns 89 after his move to Manchester City, and Bruno Fernandes holds 89 for Manchester United.
Three Arsenal Premier League title winners land in the 88-89 range: Gabriel Magalhães at 89, and Declan Rice plus William Saliba both at 88. Virgil van Dijk drops two points from his 90 OVR in EA FC 26 down to 88, a notable fall for a player who held that top tier for years.
The biggest omission from the men's top 27 is Mohamed Salah, who shared the top spot with Mbappé in EA FC 26. A difficult final season at Liverpool followed by a move to Trabzonspor has seen him fall out of the list entirely.

Who are the highest-rated women's players in EA FC 27?
Alexia Putellas retains her position as the top-rated women's player in the game at 91 OVR, now representing her new club London City Lionesses after leaving Barcelona. Aitana Bonmatí sits one point behind at 90, though injury disruptions during the 2025-26 season kept her from matching Putellas at the summit. Khadija 'Bunny' Shaw earns a 90 OVR for Manchester City after leading them to the Women's Super League title.
Women's top ratings revealed
Barcelona dominate the 89-rated women's tier with Caroline Graham Hansen, Ewa Pajor, and Clàudia Pina all hitting that mark, alongside Arsenal's Mariona Caldentey. Temwa Chawinga of Kansas City Current also earns 89, one of the higher-rated NWSL players on the list.
The 88-rated women's group is the largest tier in the top 27, featuring Mapi León (London City Lionesses), Patri Guijarro and Irene Paredes (Barcelona), Yui Hasegawa and Klara Bühl (Bayern Munich), Sophia Wilson (Portland Thorns), Melchie Dumornay (OL Lyonnes), and Barbra Banda (Orlando Pride). Alessia Russo drops from 89 to 88 despite a strong season for Arsenal and England, a rating decision that will raise eyebrows.
Eleven WSL players appear across the full top 27 women's list, reflecting how far the English women's top flight has risen in global standing.

What do these ratings mean for FUT and Career Mode?
Ratings directly shape how much players cost at FUT launch and how strong your squads feel in Career Mode. The 91-rated Haaland and Mbappé will be the most expensive cards in the early FUT economy, so if you are planning a meta-forward squad, expect to spend heavily or grind hard to afford either.
The PSG situation is worth noting for FUT chemistry. Six PSG players in the top 27 means you can build a French league squad with multiple 88-91 OVR cards sharing chemistry links, which is a strong foundation for a competitive team without mixing leagues.
For Career Mode, Messi's jump back to 89 makes Inter Miami a more attractive option than his 86 OVR in EA FC 26 suggested. If you want to build around him in MLS, the numbers now support it. Check out the EA FC 27 Career Mode deep dive for everything that changed in that mode this year.
FUT chemistry with top-rated PSG cards
Van Dijk dropping to 88 and Salah falling off the list entirely signals that Liverpool's squad depth in EA FC 27 will look noticeably different from EA FC 26. If you are running a Liverpool-based FUT squad, the chemistry math has shifted.
Should you buy EA FC 27 for these ratings?
The short answer is yes, if you play FUT or Career Mode regularly. The ratings shake-up is more significant than a typical year: two shared 91s at the top, Messi's recovery, Salah's exit, and a women's list where WSL dominance is now undeniable. These are not cosmetic changes.
