Patch 1.1.5.0 for Escape from Tarkov is live, and it's one of the more substantial updates the game has seen in recent memory. The headline change is a full rework of Lighthouse, which has long been one of the game's most complained-about locations. Rogues have moved, landmines are gone, the BTR is now patrolling, and Lightkeeper's entire access chain has been restructured. There's also a meaningful set of balance tweaks, QoL additions, and a long list of bug fixes that address some genuinely frustrating issues.
What changed on Lighthouse?
The Lighthouse rework touches almost every part of the map. The most immediately noticeable change is that Rogues have relocated from the water treatment plant to the mountain chalets. The water treatment plant itself has been stripped of stationary weapons and all landmines, which fundamentally changes how you approach that area. It's no longer a death trap for players who wander too close.
The BTR now patrols Lighthouse with several route variants, covering the full location including the bridge approach to the peninsula and the water treatment plant. Combined with the open road areas being reworked to include more cover and additional routes, the map should play considerably differently from how veterans remember it.

A few other structural additions stand out. Underground passages have been added in the mountains, cutting the travel time to extracts in the southern part of the map. The Marked Room has been moved off Lightkeeper's peninsula. A new transition point to Icebreaker has also been added, with the hovercraft docked at the pier near the water cottages. Rogue stashes containing abandoned gear are now scattered throughout the location, giving the loot distribution a more organic feel.
A temporary task chain has been added to explain the faction balance shift happening on Lighthouse, and several existing side tasks tied to the map have been adjusted or replaced to reflect the new layout.
How do you unlock Lightkeeper now?
The access requirements for Lightkeeper's "To the Light" task chain have been restructured. To receive the first task, you need to meet all of the following conditions:
- Gain access to Lighthouse through the "Tour" storyline
- Reach Loyalty Level 3 with all traders except Fence and Ref
- Have at least 2.0 reputation with Fence
- Ask Mechanic about working with Lightkeeper
Lightkeeper's individual tasks have also been reworked based on player feedback. Several now reward a rare key to a loot room on the Lighthouse peninsula, making him a more tangible endgame trader rather than a frustrating checklist. If you're working through the mid-game grind, the Escape from Tarkov beginner's guide covers the trader loyalty progression system in detail.
How does Icebreaker access work now?
Icebreaker access has been simplified. The rouble payment requirement is gone. Instead, you need a one-time use "Sudak-tudak" marine repair kit to enter. You get the first one by completing Ragman's "Pay the Fare!" task. After that, completing it unlocks a repeatable operational task type that continues rewarding more repair kits, so you're not locked out after the first visit.
Icebreaker can now be reached from both Shoreline and Lighthouse, giving you more options for routing into the map. For a deeper look at what the Icebreaker map contains, the Icebreaker update breakdown covers the full scope of that location.

What balance changes shipped with 1.1.5.0?
The balance pass covers several systems:
| Change | Detail |
|---|---|
| Transition XP multiplier | Now scales more gradually; lower for 1-2 transitions, reaches previous values at 16+ |
| Icebreaker kill XP | Reduced for Wedge, his squad, and Black Division operatives |
| Labyrinth kill XP | Reduced for Shadow of Tagilla, Vengeful Killa, and Scavs |
| Trader currency prices | Purchase price of euros and dollars from traders reduced |
| HK MP5 sale price | Changed at Mechanic and Peacekeeper Loyalty Level 2 |
| Face mask armor | Removed from six masks: Glorious E, Shattered, DevTac Samurai Menpo (both variants), Death Shadow (both variants) |
The face mask armor removal is worth flagging specifically. If you were running any of those masks partly for the armor value, that protection is gone now. They're cosmetic-only from this patch forward.
For players focused on kit optimization post-patch, the Escape from Tarkov weapon tier list has been updated to reflect current meta standings, including the HK MP5 price change at Mechanic and Peacekeeper.
What QoL additions were included?
A few smaller additions are worth knowing about:
- A task handover indicator now appears on tasks where you currently have an item ready to hand in. No more manually checking each trader.
- You can now view the profile of and report a PMC or player Scav directly from the killed players list after a raid.
- The "Can't Drink Away Skill" task has been added, rewarding the Loui Peeton wallet. It becomes available after completing "Is This a Reference?".
- The Icebreaker Model Kit item has been added to the "Part of the Ship, Part of the Crew" achievement rewards, along with a crafting recipe.
What bugs were fixed?
The fix list is long. The most impactful ones to know about:
- Saved weapon presets disappearing after a raid has been fixed. This was a persistent frustration for players who use custom presets.
- Padlocked doors remaining impassable after the lock was shot off is resolved.
- Hit registration on bolt-action rifles immediately after mounting on a bipod has been corrected.
- Strength and Endurance skills not leveling up during the first raid after Hideout gym training is fixed.
- Scavs turning hostile toward player Scavs who damaged a Black Division operative has been corrected.
- Game crashes when loading into a raid have been partially addressed.
- Weapon presets for Sanitar, Killa, and Kaban's guards have been corrected.
- The missing weapon attachments from Patch 1.1.0.0 have been added to Peacekeeper's stock.
Patch 1.1.5.0 is a meaningful step forward for Lighthouse specifically, and the bug fixes address several issues that had been bothering players for multiple patches.
