What do you need before searching for blood samples?
Accept Halloween: The Best Defense to unlock Halloween: Follow-Up Examination from Therapist. Your target is a dead scientist wearing a hazmat suit on either Infected Factory or Infected Lab. Therapist wants a specimen who died from the infection, rather than an infected enemy you killed.
Bring Medical tools for each opening
The objective calls them Medical instruments, but the item you need is Medical tools. Opening a scientist consumes one set, even though obtaining a blood sample is not guaranteed. Neither the tools nor the sample handed over for this quest requires found-in-raid status.
Pack additional sets if you intend to attempt more openings. One set covers one attempt, not a guaranteed quest completion.
The Halloween Blood sample weighs 0.1 kg and occupies a 1x1 inventory space. Leave room outside your secure container before collecting it.

Infected Factory has three possible scientist locations: the laboratory exterior, the tanks near the pumping station, and rubble beside the offices. Look for the dead scientist in protective clothing at each landmark, then use Medical tools to open the body.

At the laboratory location, check outside the laboratory. The office location is a separate spot beside the offices, where the scientist lies against a pile of rubble. Keep those landmarks distinct when checking which location you have already searched.

The pumping station location has a vertical detail that is easy to miss: the scientist is on top of the tanks. Searching only around their bases misses the specified position.

Infected Lab has four possible scientist locations. Three are on the first level, while the fourth is in the basement tunnel leading toward Sewage Conduit extraction.

The reception scientist is on the first level. For the Blue room location, search the nearby tented area on that same level. The TerraGroup Labs keycard (Blue) room is your landmark; the scientist location is in the tents near it.
The O11 location is in the center of the main working area. Reception, the Blue room tents, and O11 are separate checks, so finding nothing at one does not cover the other first-level locations.
Basement tunnel toward Sewage Conduit
The basement location is inside the tunnel leading toward Sewage Conduit extraction. Search the tunnel itself for the hazmat scientist rather than treating the extraction name as the exact body position.
How do you collect and hand over the blood sample?
At a scientist, use Medical tools to open the body, then collect the blood sample if the attempt produces one. A failed attempt still costs the tools. Finding the correct body and successfully obtaining the item are separate parts of Halloween: Follow-Up Examination.
For this extraction shooter objective, getting the sample out matters more than continuing the search once you have the one Therapist needs.
Hand over one Blood sample to Therapist to satisfy the delivery objective. The sample does not need found-in-raid status, but you still need an actual sample available for the handover.

- 40,000 EXP.
- 2 TerraGroup Labs access keycards.
- 2 Adrenaline injectors.

Extra Halloween blood samples have two Therapist barter uses. Both are available at Therapist LL1, but each has a separate event-task condition. Keep the sample needed for Follow-Up Examination before spending extras.
Model 8230 CS gas grenade barter
After accepting Halloween: First Results, Therapist offers the Model 8230 CS gas grenade (RDA-68) in exchange for:
- 1 Blood sample.
- 1 UZRGM grenade fuze.
- 1 WD-40 (100ml).
- 1 PAID AntiRoach spray.
The unlock condition is accepting First Results, rather than completing it. Blood alone is not enough for the exchange, so check the other three components before collecting samples specifically for this barter.
RDA-78 vaccine barter
The RDA-78 vaccine (Replicative DNA Attenuator) barter requires:
- 3 Blood samples.
- 1 Infected tissue sample.
- 1 TG-Vi-24 vaccine prototype (B.1.2 strain).
