Escape from Tarkov Alloy Quest Guide: How to Plant Wi-Fi Cameras

The Full Speed Ahead event in Escape from Tarkov adds a tightly connected chain of quests, and Alloy is the third task in that sequence. After grinding through No Smoke Without Fire and Stealing the Stolen, this one asks you to plant Wi-Fi Cameras across two maps in a single raid transition. It sounds simple, but knowing the exact spots before you load in saves a lot of frustration.

What is the Alloy quest in Escape from Tarkov?

Alloy is quest number three in the Full Speed Ahead event chain. The objective is straightforward: plant a Wi-Fi Camera at the weather station on Shoreline, then transition into Lighthouse and plant a second camera at a specific location on the beach. You need both cameras placed to complete the quest.

Before you raid, make sure you have two Wi-Fi Cameras in your stash. You can source them three ways:

  • Barter from Mechanic (the most reliable option if you have the required items)
  • Craft one at Workbench level 2
  • Buy from the Flea Market (quickest if you have the roubles)

How to plant the Wi-Fi Camera at the Shoreline weather station

The weather station is one of the most recognizable structures on Shoreline. Look for the hilltop building with a red and white dome, flanked by an admin building and a row of satellite dishes. You can spot it from a long distance, which also means other players can spot you approaching.

Once you reach the station, head to the outer chainlink fence near the satellite dishes. That is where the camera needs to go. The plant interaction is quick, so clear the area first before crouching down to place it.

How to plant the Wi-Fi Camera on Lighthouse after the transition

After placing the first camera, you need to transition from Shoreline to Lighthouse mid-raid. This is the mechanic that ties the two objectives together. You cannot simply run two separate raids on different maps.

Once you arrive on Lighthouse, head to the seaside chalets on the beach. You are looking for the left-hand chalet when you are facing the tanker offshore. Go inside and plant the second Wi-Fi Camera near the bed. The tanker in the distance is a useful orientation landmark if you are unsure which chalet is the correct one.

What are the Alloy quest rewards?

Completing Alloy gives you a solid haul, especially the FAST MT helmet, which is worth more than the other rewards combined in practical terms.

The XP pushes your trader rep and overall progression, and the MP7A2 with its magazines is a usable kit right out of the reward screen. The FAST MT is the standout item here.

Where does Alloy fit in the Full Speed Ahead quest chain?

Alloy sits at position three in the chain. You cannot access it without first finishing No Smoke Without Fire (which requires successful raids and Rogue kills) and Stealing the Stolen (which involves stashing radar station parts). Completing Alloy moves you one step closer to the unique achievement tied to finishing the full event chain.

Tips for running the Shoreline-to-Lighthouse transition efficiently

The mid-raid map transition is the part most players underestimate. A few things to keep in mind:

  • Bring a loadout you can afford to lose. The transition adds risk because you are spending more time in raid across two maps.
  • Clear your route to the transition point on Shoreline before hunting the weather station. Getting caught between objectives with no exit is a common mistake.
  • Time your Shoreline entry to give yourself enough raid time to reach the weather station, plant the camera, and still make the transition. Spawning late and rushing rarely works.
  • If you are new to Scav-based runs and want to reduce PMC gear risk while farming event quests, the Escape from Tarkov Scav runs guide covers how to run Scav raids effectively without putting your main kit on the line.

For players also working through other active quests in the same session, check out the Escape from Tarkov Casus Belli Pillager locations guide if you are juggling multiple event tasks at once. Efficient routing across maps is the difference between finishing an event and running out of time.
