Five Nights at Freddy's is one of the most requested crossovers in Fortnite history, and Epic Games has finally made it happen. The FNAF collab lands with the kickoff of Fortnitemares 2026, the annual Halloween event that tends to bring some of the wildest limited-time content of the year. Here's everything confirmed so far and what you should be ready for when the servers come back online.
When does Five Nights at Freddy's arrive in Fortnite?
The FNAF collab goes live on Thursday, October 1, timed to the start of Fortnitemares 2026. The content drops once the servers return from the update downtime, so expect early morning availability if you're planning to jump in the moment it's accessible.
The update that brings FNAF online may also surface additional content scheduled for the rest of the month. Epic has a history of staging Fortnitemares reveals across multiple updates, so October 1 is the opening act, not the full picture.
For a deeper look at the event's expected timeline, the Fortnitemares 2026 start and end date guide covers what Epic has and hasn't confirmed yet.
What's confirmed for the FNAF x Fortnite collab?
Epic officially announced the crossover ahead of Fortnitemares, and the reveal trailer gave away at least one concrete detail: a Fortnitemares skin wearing Freddy Fazbear Kicks. Themed footwear is clearly part of the package.
Freddy Fazbear himself is widely expected to appear as an Item Shop skin, though Epic hasn't confirmed exactly how many FNAF characters will get their own cosmetics for the event. The franchise has a deep roster, so there's real potential for multiple skins, but the official count stays unconfirmed until the update drops.
A mid-Fortnitemares update is also expected a few weeks into October, which means Epic likely has additional content ready to roll out in waves rather than all at once.

What do we still not know?
The honest answer is: quite a bit. Here's a breakdown of what's confirmed versus what's still up in the air.
The reveal itself broke records for Fortnite collab announcements, which signals the community has been waiting a long time for this one. Whether that translates into a large content drop or a more focused skin bundle remains to be seen once the update goes live.
What else is coming to Fortnite this season?
FNAF isn't the only major collab on the radar. The Batman Sprite already landed earlier this summer, and if you missed the details on that one, the Batman Sprite Fortnite release date guide has everything you need. The Sprites system has been one of the more active content areas heading into the back half of Chapter 7, with new additions dropping regularly.
With Chapter 7 closing out on November 1, the next few weeks are packed. Fortnitemares is the headline, but the broader Fortnite guides collection has you covered on everything from Sprites to upcoming skins so you don't miss anything before the chapter wraps.
