Fortnite Chapter 7 Season 3 brings 11 NPCs scattered across a modified island map, and tracking them down is worth your time. Some of these characters can be recruited to fight alongside you, while others simply exist in the world as story-relevant figures. Either way, knowing exactly where each one spawns saves you from wasting half a match wandering around the wrong POI.
Where are all the NPCs in Fortnite Chapter 7 Season 3?
The 11 NPCs are spread across 9 distinct POIs. Four of them are hireable, meaning you can spend gold bars to bring them onto your side mid-match. The remaining seven are non-hireable and serve narrative or ambient roles on the island.

Here's the full breakdown:
Elite Daigo, Heatwave PJ, Dylan, and John Wick always offer the same service in every match. The other hireable NPCs may rotate their services between rounds, so don't count on consistency from them.
Which NPCs can you hire in Chapter 7 Season 3?
Only 4 of the 11 NPCs accept gold bars for recruitment: Elite Daigo, Heatwave PJ, John Wick, and Dylan. Their roles are fixed regardless of which match you're in, which makes them reliable targets if you're building a specific strategy around NPC support.
Elite Daigo covers the Medic role, making him a strong pick if you're pushing into late-game without full heals. Heatwave PJ handles scouting, which pairs well with aggressive rotations where information matters. John Wick and Dylan round out the hireable roster, though their specific service roles vary based on what you need.
For the non-hireable NPCs, locations like Shaken Sanctuary are worth visiting for the story beats. Rival Hope and The Visitor both appear there, and The Visitor specifically requires you to head one floor down from where you find Rival Hope.
Non-hireable NPCs like Vanguard Slone and The Singularity are not passive targets. Engaging them aggressively can turn the encounter against you fast, especially in the early game when your loadout is still incomplete.
How to find NPCs at Sinister Strip and Shaken Sanctuary
Sinister Strip hosts two NPCs in close proximity. Vanguard Slone stands outside a small house to the south of the main POI marker. The Singularity is right there with her. Dropping south of the main strip and approaching on foot is the cleanest way to find both without overshooting.
Shaken Sanctuary is another two-for-one location. Rival Hope is in the main building, straightforward to spot. The Visitor requires a bit more navigation: take the stairs down one level from Rival Hope's position and you'll find him. Players who check only the ground floor frequently miss him entirely.
Services offered by non-fixed NPCs can change between matches. If you're relying on a specific service from a non-hireable NPC, verify it at the start of each round before committing your route.

What's the best NPC to hire first?
After testing routes across multiple matches, Elite Daigo at Sunken Shores stands out as the highest-priority hire if you land anywhere near the eastern side of the map. His Medic role provides consistent value in the mid-to-late game, and his cliff-edge spawn makes him one of the easier NPCs to locate quickly.
Heatwave PJ is the better choice if you're opening with a Latte Landing drop. She's positioned at the very start of that POI, so you can secure her before most opponents even get geared up.
For players landing near Calamari Canyon, John Wick near the northwestern fishing hut is the obvious target. His spawn is consistent and the area tends to be less contested than central POIs.

Cluster Coast: the easiest NPC to miss
Cluster at Cluster Coast is probably the most overlooked NPC this season. He's non-hireable, but his location is genuinely unusual: the highest deck of a massive duck-shaped boat. Most players who visit Cluster Coast focus on the loot below and never make it to the top. If you're going for completion or just want to see the character, climb all the way up.
