Boss Fights, Mythic Weapons - Chapter 7 ...

Chapter 7 Season 2 brought 4 named bosses to Fortnite, each guarding a Mythic weapon and 1,000 Gold Bars. These aren't just loot pinatas, though. Each fight has its own wrinkle, whether that's a healing companion, invisible flanks, or bouncing explosives that can delete your health bar before you react. Here's the full breakdown of where to find them and how to take them down efficiently.

How many bosses are in Fortnite Chapter 7 Season 2?

There are exactly 4 bosses active on the Chapter 7 Season 2 map: Dark Voyager Echo, The Ice King, Dread Punisher Squibbly, and Elite Zadie. A fifth character, The Foundation, can also be fought at New Sanctuary, but he drops nothing on defeat. Every main boss drops a Mythic weapon and 1,000 Gold Bars at minimum, making them the most valuable targets on the island.

Two of the four bosses (Dark Voyager Echo and The Ice King) rotate spawn locations between matches, so you won't always find them at the same POI. Dread Punisher Squibbly is the exception: he always spawns at Squibbly Shores.

How to defeat Dark Voyager Echo

Dark Voyager Echo spawns at either Dark Dominion or Battlewood Boulevard. He's considered the most approachable of the four fights, but don't let that breed complacency. His Mythic Chaos Reloader Shotgun hits hard at close range, and he can summon Dark Voyager Drones mid-fight to split your attention.

The strategy here is simple: stay at range, aim for his glowing flaming skull to land headshots, and deal with drones as they appear rather than ignoring them. His health pool is relatively small, so consistent pressure from distance ends the fight quickly.

Dark Voyager Echo drops:

  • Dark Voyager's Obliterator (Mythic)
  • Shield Potion
  • 1,000 Gold Bars

How to defeat The Ice King

The Ice King is the trickiest fight of the four because he doesn't show up alone. Lady Winterfrost accompanies him as both a bodyguard and a healer, throwing Chug Splashes on the Ice King during the fight. If you ignore her and focus purely on the boss, you'll find your damage being undone in real time.

The recommended approach is to take down Lady Winterfrost first. Once she's gone, the Ice King loses his healing support. Keep your distance to dodge his Ice Blasts, which deal tick damage in their AoE. Once Lady Winterfrost is eliminated, the fight becomes much more manageable. Note that when the Ice King is finally defeated, Lady Winterfrost is removed from the match automatically.

The Ice King drops:

  • Ice King's Gauntlets (Mythic)
  • Self-Revive Device
  • Mythic Brute Nemesis AR (not guaranteed)
  • Chug Jug (not guaranteed)
  • 1,000 Gold Bars

How to defeat Dread Punisher Squibbly

Dread Punisher Squibbly is locked to Squibbly Shores, so you always know exactly where to find him. What makes this fight stand out is his toolkit: he fires the Mythic Combat Assault Rifle at a high rate and deploys exploding squids that can chain-damage you if you're caught standing still.

Here's the thing: Squibbly can also go invisible during the fight. He doesn't disappear completely, though. There's a translucent outline visible when he's cloaked, which gives you enough information to track him and keep shooting. Constant movement is the key mechanic here. Don't stop repositioning, and never let a squid land near you.

  • Cuddle Fish

How to defeat Elite Zadie

Elite Zadie rotates between three spawn points: Sus Studios, northwest of Frigid Fortress, and northeast of Squibbly Shores. Unlike the Ice King, she has no companion, so the fight is a straight 1v1. The danger comes entirely from her Bouncing Boomstick, a throwable that bounces repeatedly and detonates on each bounce. A single Boomstick can chain-explode and strip your health before you realize what hit you.

Building above her or engaging from a distance neutralizes most of her threat. Repositioning items like the Seven Power Gloves help you stay mobile and avoid the Boomstick's blast radius. Carrying a strong healing item, such as Slapperoni Pizza, is worth the inventory slot given how much burst damage she can deal. Land consistent headshots and the fight wraps up fast.

Elite Zadie drops:

  • Mythic Hammer Revolver
  • 4x Chug Splashes
  • 1,000 Gold Bars

What about The Foundation?

The Foundation can be challenged at New Sanctuary, but defeating him yields no loot. He functions more as an interactive NPC than a traditional boss fight. If you're looking to earn rewards through him, that's a separate interaction entirely, not a boss kill.

Tips for farming bosses efficiently

  • Land at the boss location early in the match before other players arrive. Most boss fights end quickly if you have the area to yourself.
  • Prioritize Lady Winterfrost in the Ice King fight before touching the boss himself.
  • For Squibbly, watch for the translucent outline when he goes invisible rather than panicking and retreating.
  • The 1,000 Gold Bars from each kill stack up fast. Two boss kills in a single match gives you 2,000 Gold Bars to spend at NPCs across the island.

Pro tip: If you're running a route to hit multiple bosses, check the Fortnite Chapter 7 Season 2 NPC locations guide to plan vendor stops between fights and spend those Gold Bars before the match ends.
