The latest Madden NFL 27 Title Update is now live, bringing new uniforms, several Franchise fixes, and stability improvements across Superstar. Here is a full breakdown of everything included in the Madden 27 Title Update Patch Notes.
Madden NFL 27 Rivalries Uniforms
This update introduces the 2026 NFL x Nike Rivalries uniform collection, giving a selection of teams new rivalry-themed looks. The following teams receive new uniforms:
- Chicago Bears
- Indianapolis Colts
- Jacksonville Jaguars
- Detroit Lions
- Green Bay Packers
- Houston Texans
- Tennessee Titans
- Minnesota Vikings
Madden NFL 27 Gameplay Changes
There are no gameplay changes in this Title Update outside of general stability improvements. However, EA has confirmed that a smaller gameplay-focused update is planned for the following week (from August 31). That update is expected to address:
- Receivers jumping unnecessarily during catches.
- More holding penalties when using the Aggressive Blocking coach adjustment.
- Improved defensive alignment when Auto Flip is enabled.
- Better blocker responses against contain rushers.
Madden NFL 27 Franchise Fixes
The update addresses several issues affecting Franchise Mode, particularly around CPU roster management and player progression.
CPU Wear and Tear Improvements
CPU teams were previously suffering from excessive early-game injuries due to a bug causing Wear and Tear to accumulate faster than intended. This prevented CPU teams from properly managing practice loads. The fix allows CPU teams to better balance pads, reps, and rest, resulting in healthier rosters throughout the season.
College Coach Abilities Fixed
College Coach abilities were not properly unlocking for coaches using the College Coach archetype. This has now been fixed for newly created Franchise leagues. The College Coach-exclusive abilities affected include:
- Campus Conditioning
- Coach's Curriculum
- Familiar Landscape
- Drill Efficiency
- New School
- Power Program
Created Players Disappearing
An issue causing created players to disappear after playing a game following a custom roster import has been resolved. Players will need to start a new Franchise league and re-import their custom roster for the fix to take effect.
Void Years Fixed
The update also corrects an issue with Void Years not being properly applied when contracts expired. Previously, the final contract year's cap hit could be incorrectly counted instead of accelerating the remaining void-year hits.
Franchise Issues Still Being Investigated
EA has confirmed the Franchise team is continuing to investigate community feedback surrounding roster management, free agency, salary cap progression, and CPU decision-making. Issues currently under investigation include:
- Players retiring unexpectedly or at unrealistic points in their careers.
- Free agents signing unrealistic long-term contracts.
- Players losing free agents despite submitting the highest offer.
- Contract negotiations forcing additional years or larger signing bonuses.
- CPU teams accumulating massive salary cap deficits.
- CPU teams repeatedly restructuring large contracts during the offseason.
- CPU rosters lacking realistic positional depth.
- CPU teams only making draft trades when the draft is simulated.
- CPU delegation re-signing players despite the setting being disabled.
EA is also targeting a full fix for Weekly Recap in Multi-User Franchise Leagues in next week's update.
Madden NFL 27 Superstar Fixes
This update includes a range of Superstar stability improvements. EA has fixed an issue where quitting a Showdown 1v1 game during an Extra Point could cause the game to crash. Additional stability improvements have been made across the following areas:
- Creating and confirming an Avatar.
- Customizing appearance, gear, uniforms, and attributes.
- Purchasing and equipping gear.
- Entering and exiting Superstar.
- Signing contracts.
- Navigating the Superstar Center.
- Starting Franchise Superstar games.
- Moving through pre-game and post-game menus.
- Advancing through Superstar.
Further improvements have also been made to Superstar and Showdown menus to reduce situations where players become stuck. The Superstar team continues to investigate rare crashes and Storefront transaction issues.
Presentation Changes Coming Next Week
EA has confirmed two additional presentation fixes scheduled for next week's update.
Offline Franchise Halftime Fix
Players using Offline Franchise for local 1v1 games will no longer encounter a softlock during the Halftime Report. The fix allows players to transition normally into the second half.
Custom Adjustments Navigation
The Custom Adjustments menu will receive a navigation improvement. Players will be able to press Up at the top of the list to wrap around directly to the bottom, making it faster to navigate through the available options.
