Marvel's Wolverine All Suits & Claws: How to Unlock Them

Marvel's Wolverine has 32 suits at launch, covering everything from Logan's earliest comic-book looks to the X-Men animated series to original designs built specifically for the game. Each suit also comes with its own matching claw set, and those can be swapped independently. None of the cosmetics affect combat stats, so you're dressing for style, not power. That said, the total number of suits you own does feed into a separate HP bonus system, which means collecting aggressively has a real mechanical payoff.

How do suits work in Marvel's Wolverine?

Suits are cosmetic, full stop. PlayStation has confirmed that changing Logan's outfit or claw design has zero effect on his abilities, damage output, or any combat stat. What it does affect is your total health pool. The game tracks how many suits you've collected and rewards you with stacking HP multipliers as you hit certain thresholds:

Getting to 20 suits doubles your base health, which is a meaningful advantage on harder difficulties. Prioritize crafting early, even if you don't care about the cosmetics.

How to unlock all suits

Most suits fall into one of three categories. Some unlock automatically through story progression and cost nothing. Others require crafting with Materials collected from crates scattered across missions. A third group comes from pre-order bonuses or the Digital Deluxe Edition.

If you miss a crate during a mission, you're not locked out permanently. The Nightmare Cabin in the main menu lets you replay any mission and shows exactly what collectibles you skipped.

Some missions temporarily block suit swapping for story reasons. This is intentional and not a bug.

All suits in Marvel's Wolverine

Here's the complete list of all 32 suits, organized by how you get them.

Story unlocks (free, earned through progression)

These suits drop automatically as you play through the campaign:

  • Team X Tactical - unlocks early in the story
  • Tank Top - story progression
  • Future Past - story progression
  • Dressed Down - story progression
  • Patch - story progression
  • Death - story progression

Craftable suits (require Materials)

These suits need Materials gathered from crates. The costs scale up significantly, so plan your farming accordingly:

Challenge and collectible unlocks

These suits require specific in-game achievements beyond just collecting Materials:

  • Future Fugitive - earn Gold in all Nightmare Gauntlets
  • Hellverine - earn Adamantium rank in all Nightmare Gauntlets
  • Midnight - collect all Whisky Bottles across all missions
  • Secret suit - find every Whisky Bottle (this is the final suit in the game)
tip
The Whisky Finder Adaptation helps you sense bottles at greater range and through walls. Equip it before hunting collectibles to save significant time.

Suits with unconfirmed unlock methods

The following suits are in the game but their exact unlock conditions weren't fully detailed at launch:

  • Leather Jacket
  • X-Force
  • Blue and Gold
  • Ultimate Yellow
  • Marvel Tokon: Fighting Souls
  • Black Tank
  • Yellow Variant
  • Animated

Pre-order and Digital Deluxe suits

Five suits are exclusive to the Digital Deluxe Edition, with an additional suit available to anyone who pre-ordered:

  • Incredible - pre-order bonus
  • Savage - pre-order bonus
  • Age of Apocalypse - pre-order bonus
  • Night Hunt - pre-order bonus
  • New Leather - pre-order bonus

The Age of Apocalypse suit draws from the alternate Marvel Comics universe where Logan is known as Weapon X and the world is under Apocalypse's rule. It's one of the more distinct designs in the roster.

All claw designs in Marvel's Wolverine

Claws work on the same cosmetic-only system as suits. Each suit ships with a matching claw design, but you can mix and match freely. The Digital Deluxe Edition includes five exclusive claw variants, and pre-ordering unlocks the Reflective Claws early.

The Serrated Spine design fits Logan's brutal fighting style visually better than most, but that's purely aesthetic. Pick whatever looks right to you.

Do suits or claws give any gameplay advantages?

No. Every suit and claw variant is purely cosmetic. The only mechanical benefit tied to suits is the HP bonus system described above, and that scales with the number of suits collected, not which specific ones you're wearing. The Digital Deluxe Edition does include additional Technique Points on top of the cosmetics, but the suits themselves don't carry any stat bonuses.

If you're trying to decide whether the Digital Deluxe Edition is worth it for gameplay reasons, the Technique Points are the relevant factor. The exclusive suits and claws are a bonus on top. For a full breakdown of what each edition includes, check the Marvel's Wolverine pre-order and editions guide.

What's the fastest way to collect all suits?

Farm Material Crates aggressively from the start. The Crate Finder Adaptation is your best tool here. For Whisky Bottles, the Whisky Finder Adaptation removes most of the guesswork. If you want the Hellverine suit, you'll need to hit Adamantium rank across all Nightmare Gauntlets, which is the hardest unlock in the wardrobe.

For players going for full completion, the Marvel's Wolverine trophy list covers every achievement tied to suits and collectibles, which is worth cross-referencing to make sure you're not duplicating effort.

The game is a linear adventure experience, so you'll move through missions in a set order. Missing collectibles is easy to do on a first playthrough. The mission replay system at the Nightmare Cabin exists precisely for mop-up runs, and it shows you exactly what's left per level. Use it.
