IO Interactive shipped 007 First Light Patch 1.1.0 on July 26, 2026, and it is the kind of update that makes you realize just how much was quietly broken at launch. The headline additions are two brand-new TacSim Escalations, but the real story is a fixes list that runs well over 200 items, touching everything from achievement unlock failures to cinematics playing at double speed after waking your console from standby.

What The Workshop actually asks you to do

The Workshop is a three-tier stealth Escalation built around a single premise: seven hostiles, low light, and no room for noise. IO's description keeps it tight: stay out of sight and strike decisively. That framing puts it squarely in the silent-takedown camp, which means players chasing clean completions will need to think carefully about loadout before stepping in.

The second new addition, Extraction Avenues, flips the script slightly. The data is already secured when you arrive; your job is reading the security layout and finding a clean exit route before the response closes in. Both missions follow the three-tier Escalation structure, meaning each tier layers on additional constraints or complications.

New weapons and the Intel cost to unlock them

Patch 1.1.0 also expands the TacSim armory with three new weapons and a new outfit, all gated behind Clearance Levels and Intel currency.

The DRS-7 Silenced SMG is the obvious standout for stealth-focused runs, landing at Clearance Level 16. The Diamond in the Rough outfit sits at the top of the unlock ladder at Level 18, so expect that to be a longer grind for players who are still working through the TacSim content.

The bug fixes that actually matter for challenge hunters

Here's the thing: the most impactful part of this patch for active players is not the new content. It is the achievement and challenge fixes. Several progression-blocking bugs had been sitting in the game since launch, and this update clears most of them.

The "A Legacy of Spycraft" achievement for collecting all legacy items, "For Your Eyes Only" for all intel items, and "Recovered Assets" for all memento items were all failing to unlock even after players met the requirements. Those are now resolved. The "Travelling Light" challenge in "All the Time in the World" was also demanding more than three hostiles thrown from the aircraft, which was never the intended threshold.

For players who already put the hours in and got nothing to show for it, those fixes should trigger retroactively once the patch is applied.

Stability on Xbox Series S was another clear priority. The patch addresses crashes in the Challenges menu during extended sessions, crashes after dying in the "Time to Die" boss fight, and a crash during the "All the Time in the World" car cinematic. That is a lot of Series S-specific attention in a single update.

The PS5 patch size situation

One number from this update that has been getting attention: the PS5 patch weighs in at 23.84 GB. For context, Steam's version is 3.6 GB, Xbox Series is 1.39 GB, Microsoft PC is 2.24 GB, and Epic Games Store is 3.99 GB. PS5 players are downloading roughly 17 times more data than Xbox Series owners for the same update. IO has not explained the size discrepancy publicly, but platform-level packaging differences between PS5's file structure and other platforms have caused similar gaps on other titles before.

The game itself moved 2.7 million copies in its first week, so the player base waiting on this patch is substantial. IO noted that more improvements and content updates are already in development, which lines up with their stated commitment to free Year One content.

If you are still working through the main campaign or want to see how The Workshop's challenge list stacks up against earlier missions, the 007 First Light all missions list with challenge counts and collectible info is a solid reference point. Players specifically targeting the Knightfall mission challenges that were fixed in this patch can also find a full breakdown in the Knightfall challenges guide, which covers the safe code, stealth encounters, and the white tux reward.
