9z benched Ignacio “meyern” Meyer on November 7, 2026, and are bringing Brazilian AWPer Allan “history” Lawrenz into their Counter-Strike 2 lineup for PGL Major Singapore. The change comes before the team's Stage 1 campaign begins on November 24.
meyern returned to 9z in November 2025 and became the team's primary AWPer following levi's departure. His first spell with the organization came in 2020, when he played as a rifler. The benching closes his second run in the active lineup.
A change after two last-place finishes
9z's earlier results included a quarterfinal appearance at the IEM Cologne Major and a title at XSE Pro League Guangzhou. In its farewell message, the organization credited meyern with helping it return to Major competition and win its first Tier-1 tournament despite changing roles.
The team's latest tournament exits were much less encouraging: 15th-16th at PGL Masters Bucharest and 13th-16th at IEM Beijing, both last-place finishes.
Head coach Bruno “BIT” Fukuda Lima said the staff had tried changing approaches and positions, alongside a greater focus on individual practice, without improving results. He described the roster adjustment as a way to bring fresh energy before the Major.
After Bucharest, BIT had also acknowledged that 9z's qualification reflected their performances over the preceding months, not their current level.
9z's roster for Singapore
history has previously represented ARCTIC, Fluxo, and RED Canids. He brings Major experience from Paris 2023 and Budapest 2025 to a lineup whose other four players remain in place:
- Maximiliano “max” Gonzalez
- Franco “dgt” Garcia
- Luciano “luchov” Herrera
- Matias “HUASOPEEK” Ibañez Hernandez
BIT remains head coach as 9z prepare for the opening stage.
Stage 1 runs from November 24 to 27. Teams need three wins to reach Stage 2, while three losses mean elimination. 9z's revised lineup therefore has to find its footing in the opening stage, with no later-stage entry to fall back on.
