Angelic, a web3 narrative strategy RPG, has launched its alpha test on the Saga blockchain, a Layer 1 platform built for scalable gaming applications. The game drops players into a dark, collaborative sci-fi universe where their choices shape the storyline and determine humanity's fate. Saga's infrastructure provides the technical backbone for Angelic's community-driven approach and cross-chain asset flexibility.

What is Angelic?
Angelic comes from founder Erkan Bayol, who's been working on this collaborative gaming universe concept for over 24 years. After founding Céidot Game Studios and directing multiple double-A and triple-A titles, Bayol launched Metaverse Game Studios in 2016 to develop Angelic. Early blockchain integration attempts didn't pan out, but the project got a second wind in 2020.
A global team has been building Angelic since then. Angelic: The Chaos Theatre is the first release from Metaverse Game Studios, a 34-person operation. The game has been in active development since 2016, and the Saga partnership brings that long-term vision to players.

Angelic Debuts on Saga Blockchain
Angelic runs on the Saga blockchain, a Layer 1 platform designed to host other Layer 1 games and applications. This partnership gives Angelic access to scalable, interoperable blockchain infrastructure. The alpha test is live now, offering players a first look at the dark, post-apocalyptic sci-fi universe.
Angelic features detailed visuals and layered storytelling in a world where dark angels fight for humanity's survival. Originally backed by Solana, Angelic is deploying a separate instance of its universe on Saga. The move takes advantage of Saga's architecture to support the game's growth and improve the player experience.

Interoperable and Innovative Gaming
The Angelic and Saga collaboration centers on Saga's infrastructure. Saga's platform supports innovative gaming experiences with a scalable, interoperable environment. Players can contribute to intellectual property and form player guilds (DAOs) to govern and customize their sectors within the Angelic universe.
Eda Tutkun, business development and social media manager at Angelic, described the partnership's impact: "Partnering with Saga is a monumental step for Angelic. This collaboration not only allows us to enhance our game's on-chain scalability and performance but also opens up new avenues for our community to engage with and influence our universe."

Seamless Asset Transfer Of On-Chain Items
A major feature of this partnership is the seamless transfer of optional on-chain assets between Solana and Saga. Saga's fast bridging technology lets players move assets across blockchains without friction, adding flexibility to the ecosystem.
Angelic is building a narrative world with stories spanning multiple volumes. Players engage in strategic battles, make decisions that affect outcomes, and own in-game assets through NFT technology. The game integrates community input to shape the intellectual property collaboratively.
Saga CEO Rebecca Liao emphasized the partnership's significance: "Saga is committed to supporting innovative and immersive gaming experiences like Angelic. This partnership exemplifies our dedication to providing a scalable and interoperable infrastructure that empowers game developers and players alike."
