Foonie Magus has officially launched Apeiron: Godling Genesis, its web3-based god game, on the Apple App Store and Google Play in select regions. Previously exclusive to PC players with high system requirements, the mobile release expands the game's accessibility, reaching a wider audience. The initial rollout targets players in Southeast Asia, Hong Kong, and Japan, with a broader release in major markets, including the United States, China, and Latin America, planned for 2025.

Apeiron bills itself as the world's first NFT-based god game running on the Ronin blockchain. The game combines rogue-lite dungeon card-battler mechanics with god game simulation gameplay that draws inspiration from classic titles like Populous and Black & White.
A team of 60 Hong Kong developers is building the game. Their prototype secured one of the largest single-game seed fundings in web3 from investors including Hashed, IVC, Morningstar Ventures, Spartan Group, and DeFiance. Apeiron has raised $24 million to date, including a recent $13.5 million seed round.

In Apeiron: Godling Genesis, players enter a "godiverse" as newly created deities. The gameplay mixes strategy and adventure as players recruit apostles, build decks, and fight through dungeon battles. Story missions drive the narrative forward, while early access to the arena provides competitive play. Foonie Magus has introduced two features with the mobile release:
- Battle Pass: A seasonal subscription that rewards players for completing daily tasks.
- Webstore: A platform for purchasing in-game packages and earning multiplier items using the game's native tokens.

Integrating Blockchain and UGC
Apeiron uses blockchain technology to give players ownership and creative opportunities within the game. Frank Cheng, CEO of Foonie Magus, says the integration of blockchain and user-generated content (UGC) creates a meta-game layer that deepens player engagement and expands the game's universe.
"Our goal has always been to make Apeiron accessible to players worldwide," Cheng stated. "With blockchain technology and UGC, Apeiron introduces a unique meta-game layer where players can own, create, and connect their in-game experiences."
The game is currently in its fourth season, which runs from December 4, 2024, to January 15, 2025. Players can compete on PvP and PvE leaderboards for rewards including over 240,000 $APRS, 200,000 APRM, and more than 1 million Animus tokens.
Development and Future Plans
Apeiron is available for free download on mobile platforms and is also accessible on PC through the Mavis Hub and the Epic Games Store. The game positions itself as a notable entry in web3 gaming with its approach to blending traditional gameplay with blockchain elements.
