Developer Rafoli has announced CRACK, a 1-4 player co-op incremental adventure in which players are tasked with breaking open a mysterious giant egg. The indie game is scheduled to launch on October 26 on Steam.

CRACK puts players inside a strange laboratory where a giant egg has been placed for reasons that are not immediately explained. The objective is straightforward: use a growing collection of tools to crack open the egg and discover what is hidden inside.

The game supports up to four players, allowing friends to divide responsibilities throughout the laboratory. One player can focus on removing parts of the egg, while others can process the resulting shells, automate production, construct scaffolding, and access higher sections of the structure.

CRACK Turns a Giant Egg Into a Co-Op Job

The central gameplay loop in CRACK revolves around gradually breaking apart the giant egg. Players begin with basic equipment such as a pickaxe and chisel before gaining access to additional tools, including dynamite and other equipment found throughout the laboratory.

The co-op structure allows players to work on different aspects of the operation simultaneously. While one player works directly on the egg, another can convert collected shells into earnings. Other players can focus on automation or construct scaffolding to reach previously inaccessible sections.

This incremental approach means that the laboratory and the equipment available to players expand as the egg-breaking operation progresses.

The Laboratory Has Its Own Mysteries

Although the egg provides CRACK's primary objective, the laboratory itself is also part of the game's mystery.

Players can unlock secret rooms and upgrade their equipment as they explore the facility. The laboratory communicates with players through public announcement speakers, issuing instructions and reminders about their assigned work.

According to the developer, players are also expected to take mandatory breaks while carrying out their unusual assignment.

The game does not initially explain who built the laboratory or why the players have been brought there. Those questions form part of the mystery surrounding the facility and the giant egg.

The Egg Reacts to Players

The egg is not simply a static object waiting to be destroyed. CRACK's description states that it reacts to what players do to it, suggesting that the process of breaking through its layers will reveal more than just a physical structure.

The game's central mystery is ultimately tied to what is inside the egg. Players will need to continue working through the laboratory and its various upgrades to uncover the answer.

CRACK Is Being Developed in Public

Rafoli is developing CRACK publicly and documenting the game's production process on social media. The developer is also incorporating ideas from the community into the game, allowing followers to influence what gets added during development.

According to Rafoli, CRACK began as a joke based around the unexplained presence of a giant egg. The development process has since become a community-driven project, with players able to suggest ideas and watch them potentially become part of the game.

"CRACK started as a joke about a giant egg nobody questions. The game has been built shift by shift with everyone watching, and honestly, that's been the best part," Rafoli said. "Come comment on what to build next!"

CRACK Release Date and Platforms

CRACK is scheduled to release on October 26, 2026, exclusively on PC via Steam at launch.

The game supports one to four players, making it possible to tackle the egg-breaking assignment alone or with up to three friends.

Players interested in the project can wishlist CRACK on Steam and follow Rafoli's development updates on TikTok, Instagram, and YouTube.
