The window is tight. Fortnite's Final Kickoff Event opens on Sunday, July 19 at 9 AM ET and closes exactly 24 hours later, and inside that window sits a free Hyundai Ioniq 6 N Line Car Body that goes straight into your locker if you know what to do.
What the Final Kickoff Event is actually offering
Epic tied this promotion to the FIFA World Cup 2026, and the rewards split into two tiers. The first is a Soccer Ball Toy, which you get just by logging in during the event window. No matches required, no quests to chase. Log in between July 19 at 9 AM ET and July 20 at 9 AM ET, and it is yours.
The second reward is where things get more interesting. The Hyundai Ioniq 6 N Line Car Body is a Sports Car cosmetic that also works in Rocket League, meaning if you unlock it in Fortnite, it transfers over automatically. The catch is that it requires completing a specific in-game task, not just showing up.
The Striker Sprite quest, explained
To earn the car, you need to Master a Striker Sprite and extract it during the same match. Mastering means getting your Sprite to level 5 before you extract. Here's the lowdown on finding one:
- Soccer Pitch POI guarantees a Striker Sprite when you score a goal, though it is limited to one per player
- Standard Chests and Rare Chests have a reasonable drop rate for Striker Sprites
- Sprite Chests guarantee a Sprite drop, giving you a solid shot at the Striker variant
Once you have the Striker Sprite in hand, leveling it to 5 comes down to opening containers like Chests and Ammo Boxes and picking up eliminations during the match. Get it to level 5, extract, and the Ioniq 6 N Line Car Body lands in your locker.
The Rocket League connection
The Hyundai Ioniq 6 is simultaneously available in Rocket League as part of the same promotion, with that window running slightly longer, until July 20 at 12 PM ET. The cross-game transfer works in both directions, so Rocket League players who grab it there will also see it appear in Fortnite. For Fortnite players, the 9 AM ET July 20 deadline is the hard cutoff.
What most players miss is that this is not a Battle Pass reward or a Shop item with a return date. Once the event closes, there is no confirmed path to grab the car body again for free.
Everything you need before July 20
The full checklist is short:
- Log in during the event window for the free Soccer Ball Toy
- Find a Striker Sprite at the Soccer Pitch POI or from Chests
- Level the Sprite to level 5 by looting containers and getting eliminations
- Extract the Sprite at level 5 in the same match
- Collect the Hyundai Ioniq 6 N Line Car Body from your locker
The key here is doing steps 2 through 4 in a single match. You cannot level a Sprite across multiple sessions and then extract it later.
Fortnite has been stacking free cosmetic opportunities throughout Chapter 7 Season 3, from the free Kyo Sidekick for Chapter 1 Season 9 veterans to the Vinicius Jr. Baila emote for eligible players. The Ioniq 6 follows that same pattern: real cosmetic value, zero cost, but a hard expiry that punishes anyone who waits too long. Get in before 9 AM ET on July 20.
