Team Cherry has shipped what it considers the last "significant" patch for Hollow Knight: Silksong before the upcoming Sea of Sorrow expansion, and it's a meaty one.
Version 1.0.29926 is already live on PC platforms, with a console rollout described as coming "soon." The patch touches everything from boss behavior and out-of-bounds exploits to brand-new language support, making it a proper send-off before the game's next big chapter.
What's Actually in the Patch
The headline addition is Traditional Chinese localisation, which Team Cherry says was developed in close collaboration with translators to preserve lore accuracy. The studio also coordinated with its Simplified Chinese team to keep critical terminology consistent across both versions. That's a meaningful commitment for a game where environmental storytelling and item descriptions carry a lot of weight.
German players also get some love. The German script has been refined for clarity and better consistency with the English source text.
On the bug fix side, the list is long and specific:
- Last Judge's death explosion damage corrected from 3 to 2
- Magma Bell now protects against all fire-type explosions, not just some
- Savage Beastfly's summoned minions now die when the boss is killed
- Far Fields Savage Beastfly gets stunned when hit by the hanging bomb rock
- Shrine Guardian Seth can no longer push Hornet through walls
- Lace (Cradle) out-of-bounds instance fixed, plus several rare fight behavior corrections
- Silk Soar can now pass through top scene exits
- Snitch Pick correctly deals its 3rd hit of damage when used inside a memory
- Fast travel no longer unintentionally clears Hunter focus
- Shell Satchel unequip now properly updates tool quantity
- Border Caves bounce-pods fixed for Silk and Health rewards on certain Crests
- Various enemy collision and respawn issues resolved for Wood Wasps, Thread Rakers, and Lavalugs
- Choruses in Underworks now play their full Needolin text
That damage correction on Last Judge is worth noting. Dropping from 3 to 2 on the death explosion isn't a massive number, but in a game where every hit point matters and boss encounters are designed around tight margins, it's the kind of fix that can shift a fight's difficulty feel noticeably.

Resting up before the next fight
Sea of Sorrow Is Still on the Horizon
The bigger picture here is what this patch signals. By calling it the final "significant" update before Sea of Sorrow, Team Cherry is essentially drawing a line in the sand. The base game is in a good place, and the studio's focus is shifting toward the expansion.
Sea of Sorrow is a nautically themed free expansion for Silksong that promises new areas, bosses, tools, and more. It's due sometime this year, and the fact that Team Cherry is comfortable closing the loop on major patches suggests the expansion is progressing well.
Free expansions aren't something every developer commits to, and it's the kind of move that keeps a community invested. If you haven't finished Silksong yet, now's a good time to get back in before the new content arrives. Make sure to check out more:
