Gaming-centric blockchain Oasys has confirmed a partnership with the leading Korean game developer Com2uS, the conglomerate behind video game titles such as ‘Summoners War: Chronicles’ and ‘The Walking Dead: All-Stars,’ and its web3 business subsidiary XPLA. The alliance marks a significant step in the developer’s expansion into the Japanese market.
Com2uS, the first game studio and publishing company to develop a mobile game in South Korea, is already an established validator on the Oasys blockchain but will deepen its involvement by building its own ‘Verse.’ The Layer2, tentatively titled XPLA Verse, will harness Oasys’ state-of-the-art infrastructure to offer enhanced gaming experiences to web3 players in the most compliant way.
As part of the partnership, Com2uS will also bring its premium IPs, including ‘Summoners War: Chronicle’ and ‘The Walking Dead: All Stars,’ onto the Oasys network. Summoners War: Chronicles is an epic action RPG, while The Walking Dead: All Stars is a strategy RPG based on the eponymous zombie TV series. These titles will also be playable on XPLA Verse on the Oasys blockchain, making them accessible to a wider audience.

Com2uS aims to leverage the unique double-layer architecture of the Oasys blockchain, which comprises multiple Verses (Layer2s) and its own Hub-Layer (Layer1). The architecture is particularly beneficial for the Seoul-based publisher as it seeks to navigate and comply with the local regulatory requirements in Japan.
The know-how and experience of the Oasys team in Japan will be instrumental in ensuring Com2uS achieves compliance and expands its footprint and user base in the country.
Paul Kim, Team Lead of XPLA, commented on the recent news: “By partnering with Oasys, XPLA will make a significant move into the world’s third largest gaming market, Japan. With plans to launch two major Web3 games based on globally recognized IPs within the first half of the year, we intend to capture the 55 million Japanese gamers community.”
Oasys previously collaborated with XPLA for the Beyond Boundaries hackathon in Seoul in 2023 to tackle complex challenges in web3 and elevate the overall gaming experience.
Collaborations have been instrumental in amplifying Oasys's influence and reach within the web3 gaming community. A strategic partnership with Ubisoft will see the gaming giant deploy their avant-garde PVP Tactical RPG, “Champions Tactics™ Grimoria Chronicles,” on Oasys Chain.
Before Ubisoft’s venture into the world of blockchain games, SEGA and double jump.tokyo revealed Battle of Three Kingdoms — a brand new blockchain TCG created using SEGA’s iconic arcade game IP, Sangokushi Taisen. Additionally, Bandai Namco’s foray into AI-driven gaming saw the launch of RYUZO, a blend of creativity and innovation facilitated by Oasys in combination with OASYX – the first-ever NFT project minted on Oasys’ Hub-Layer.
