No release date was confirmed, but there's enough here to get a clear picture of where the game is headed next.
What Part 2 is actually focused on
Here's the thing: Part 2 is not bringing a new zone. That was already confirmed before today, but the Nintendo Direct made it clear that the zone content is being saved for Part 3. Instead, Part 2 is built around customization and new Pokémon additions, which is a different kind of content drop than what players got in Bubbly Basin.
That's not necessarily a downgrade. Customization has been one of the more requested features in the community since launch, and the trailer showed off exactly the kind of cosmetic options players have been asking for.
New accessories for Ditto and your Pokémon
The trailer confirmed sunglasses, bow ties, and ribbons as incoming customization items. What makes this more interesting than a standard cosmetic update is that these accessories can be equipped to both the playable Ditto character and the other Pokémon living in your towns. That's a meaningful distinction. Dressing up your whole town's population rather than just your own character opens up a lot more creative expression in how players build and present their spaces.
No word yet on how these items are obtained, whether through crafting, exploration, or some other mechanic tied to the new content.
Three new Pokémon confirmed, and probably more
The trailer explicitly revealed Doduo, Skitty, and Braixen as new additions coming in Part 2. The key here is how Pokopia's Pokédex system works: the game typically includes full evolutionary lines rather than isolated Pokémon. That means Dodrio, Delcatty, Fennekin, and Delphox are all but confirmed to join the roster as well, even if they weren't shown directly.
That's potentially seven Pokémon added in a single content wave, which is a solid haul for players focused on completing their Pokédex or building out specific habitat setups.
The habitat question nobody has answered yet
One thing that remains genuinely unclear is how Part 2's Pokémon will be locked behind the paid expansion. Bubbly Basin introduced a new zone with its own mechanics and habitats, which made the paywall fairly straightforward. Without a new zone, Part 2 will need a different approach, possibly new habitat types built around items introduced specifically in this expansion wave.
