Proof of Play, the game studio behind the popular onchain game Pirate Nation, has announced the launch of Boss Chain, the second chain in its multichain ecosystem, set to go live on August 29th. This launch is part of Proof of Play’s vision to scale its platform to support over 100 million players, enhancing horizontal scaling capabilities for onchain gaming.
Pirate Nation, a free-to-play, pirate-themed RPG, currently operates on Proof of Play’s first chain, Apex, which processes 2.5 million transactions daily and leads globally in real-world activity. Due to the game's massive popularity, Apex has reached its capacity, necessitating the introduction of Boss Chain to continue accommodating the growing number of players and transactions.
The Proof of Play Multichain is designed to handle exponential player growth with interconnected chains optimized for onchain gaming. This setup ensures seamless composability, fast block times, and a superior player experience that outperforms traditional blockchain platforms.
