TerraMaster has announced four new enterprise rackmount NAS systems designed for businesses handling large-scale storage, virtualisation, AI workloads and data protection. The new U-725 series consists of the U8-725, U12-725, U12-725 Plus and U16-725 Plus, with the lineup targeting medium and large businesses, creative studios, surveillance deployments and other data-intensive environments.
The new systems combine Intel Xeon processing, ECC memory, NVMe SSD cache support, high-speed networking and expandable storage. TerraMaster is also positioning the servers as unified platforms capable of handling file services, media collaboration, virtual machines, surveillance storage, AI datasets, backup and disaster recovery.

Intel Xeon Processing and ECC Memory
The U-725 series is built around Intel Xeon D processors, with the systems designed to provide the processing resources required for business applications and demanding storage workloads.
The U12-725, for example, uses an Intel Xeon D-2712T processor paired with 16GB of ECC DDR4 memory. The memory can be expanded to up to 1TB, allowing businesses to increase system resources as their storage and virtualisation requirements develop.
ECC memory is designed to detect and correct certain types of data corruption, making it particularly relevant to enterprise environments where system reliability and data integrity are important.
The servers also include NVMe SSD cache support, which can be used to accelerate frequently accessed data and improve responsiveness for workloads involving large files or virtual machines.
Up to 50Gbps of Combined Network Bandwidth
High-speed networking is another focus of the U-725 series. The U12-725 includes four 10GbE SFP+ ports and two 5GbE RJ45 ports, providing up to 50Gbps of combined network bandwidth when the available interfaces are used together.
TerraMaster also supports link aggregation, allowing multiple network connections to be combined into a logical interface. The resulting performance depends on the network configuration and workload rather than automatically providing a single 50Gbps connection to one device.
