Update 1.1.1 for the The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time remake is now available, arriving November 4, 2026, with Zelda Notes support.

Version 1.0.0 makes way for 1.1.1

Previously running version 1.0.0, the remake moves to 1.1.1 with a download that takes approximately 343MB to install. The app connection is the patch's headline addition.

Nintendo's patch notes also include fixes for several issues to improve the gameplay experience. That puts this update's focus on companion functionality and fixes, alongside the remake's broader changes to Link's adventure.

Zelda Notes puts ocarina melodies in the app

Zelda Notes lives in the Nintendo Switch mobile app. Its features give players ways to revisit their accomplishments, test their knowledge, and get creative with the instrument that gives Ocarina of Time its name:

  • View a record of accomplishments.
  • Test knowledge of the game.
  • Create and share custom ocarina melodies.

After the updated game starts, on-screen instructions explain how to configure Zelda Notes. The setup process begins inside Ocarina of Time, with the companion features accessed through the mobile app.

The remake features overhauled graphics, gameplay updates, and amiibo support. The Ocarina of Time remake changes guide looks more closely at the differences between this release and the original.

Developed by Nintendo Entertainment Analysis & Development and published by Nintendo, the original Ocarina of Time launched on November 21, 1998. It was the fifth entry in the Zelda series and the first to bring its action-adventure formula into 3D.

Link's journey follows his transformation from a young Kokiri boy into the adult Hero of Time. Time travel and dungeon puzzles shape his quest to stop Ganondorf from seizing the Triforce in the kingdom of Hyrule, giving the remake its underlying adventure beneath the updated presentation.
