Seven days. That's all the runway Wallhack gave the gaming community before its first ever gaming mouse gets a full reveal. On July 20, the company posted a teaser trailer for something called the M-001, with a full announcement locked in for July 24. The clip shows a separate battery snapping into place, and that single detail has the peripheral community buzzing.

From mouse pads to mice: what Wallhack is actually known for

If the Wallhack name is new to you, you might know the brand under its previous name, SkyPad. The company built its reputation making high-performance glass mouse pads, sleeves, and skates. Premium stuff, targeted squarely at competitive players who care about every millimeter of mouse movement. This is its first step into actually making a mouse.

That context matters. Wallhack isn't a general peripherals brand trying to slap its logo on a generic sensor. Everything it has made so far sits at the top end of the market, and the M-001 teaser looks consistent with that positioning. The wireless dongle alone, visible in a separate teaser post from July 15, looks more like a high-end DAC than a standard USB receiver. It appears to include a scroll wheel for DPI and polling rate adjustments, plus a status button and at least one other control element. That's a level of detail you don't see on budget hardware.

Why hot-swappable batteries are worth paying attention to

Here's the thing: hot-swappable batteries can sound like a marketing checkbox until you've actually needed one. The pitch isn't that you'll constantly be swapping batteries mid-session. The pitch is that you'll never have to plug in your wireless mouse and wait for it to charge before you can play.

For casual use, that's a convenience. For competitive players grinding ranked queues or tournament prep, it's genuinely useful. You keep a spare battery charged, and when one runs low, you swap in seconds and keep going. No cable. No interruption. No losing your wireless feel right before a match.

The Glorious Model O3 was one of the first mice to bring this feature to wider attention, though it had other issues that held it back. Since then, the idea has gained traction. The AM Infinity Mouse from Angry Miao ships with a hot-swap system, a PAW3950 sensor, and weighs just 49 g. The unreleased SteelSeries Rival Pro Mini has also been rumored to include the feature. Wallhack entering that space with the M-001 suggests this is becoming a genuine product category rather than a one-off experiment.

tip
Peripheral reviewer mel0nFPS predicted the M-001 would feature a "hot-swap battery system (250-300 mAh)" based on an earlier image-only teaser, before the video trailer confirmed the battery detail.

What the leaks and teasers suggest about specs

Based on PCB analysis from mel0nFPS ahead of the reveal, the M-001 could be running a top-tier PAW3955 sensor with optical switches. The underside of the mouse appears partially hollowed out in a way that suggests a lightweight build, though not the typical honeycomb shell approach. If those predictions hold up on July 24, the M-001 would land right at the top of the competitive mouse market on paper.

Price is the open question. Given Wallhack's track record of premium positioning and the spec level being discussed, anything below $140 would be a surprise. That puts it in the same bracket as mice like the Logitech G Pro X2 Superstrike and the Razer Viper V4 Pro. Whether the hot-swap system and Wallhack's brand cachet in competitive circles justify that price will depend entirely on how the full specs and feel shake out.

What this means for players watching the peripheral space

The M-001 announcement matters beyond just one mouse. When a brand with Wallhack's credibility in the competitive community commits to hot-swappable batteries as a core feature of its debut product, other manufacturers take notice. The AM Infinity Mouse proved the spec was viable. If the M-001 lands well, it becomes harder for premium wireless mice to justify shipping without one.

For players who have been waiting to upgrade their wireless setup, July 24 is worth marking. The full reveal should confirm specs, pricing, and availability.
