PEAK Bellringer Badge Guide: Where to Find All GLOOM Belltowers

The GLOOM biome added in PEAK's final major update brings one of the most demanding badge challenges in the game. To earn the Bellringer Badge, you need to find and ring all 5 Belltowers scattered across the GLOOM, and you have to do it within a single expedition. No checkpoints, no second chances across runs. Get it done in one go or start over.

Where to find Belltowers in the GLOOM

Locating all 5 Belltowers is the hardest part of this challenge. They sit beneath the gloom layer, so you won't spot them at eye level while climbing. The most reliable method is to gain elevation and look down. When you're high enough, watch for a cluster of sparkles on the ground below you. Those sparkles mark a Belltower location directly.

Crows are another reliable signal. If you notice Crows gathered in an area, scan the ground beneath them for that same sparkle effect. The two clues tend to appear together, so spotting one usually confirms the other.

For ground-level navigation, keep an eye out for small silver-colored miniature statues placed at specific map locations. Each statue points in a direction. Follow where it's facing and you'll find a Belltower nearby. This is the most useful method when you can't get enough height for the overhead view.

tip
Prioritize gaining elevation early in each area. The sparkle method lets you plan a route to multiple Belltowers before descending, which saves significant time during a single run.

How do you activate a Belltower?

Once you reach a Belltower, interact with it to light a fire. That's the activation. The fire burns away the surrounding gloom and creates a safe zone around the tower. Each of the 5 Belltowers works the same way, so there's no special sequence or order required. Just find them and interact.

The Big Ghost NPC is apparently tied to the Belltowers in some way, though reaching that point in the questline requires activating towers first.

Does Belltower location change between runs?

The exact spawn positions may vary between expeditions. Testing across multiple runs is needed to confirm whether locations are fixed or randomized. Treat each run as potentially unique and rely on the sparkle and statue navigation methods rather than memorizing a fixed route.

warning
Don't skip the silver statue markers. If you can't get a high vantage point, those statues are your most consistent ground-level guide to finding towers quickly.

Should you attempt this solo or with a team?

Team play makes this badge significantly more manageable. When running with a group, you don't need to personally activate all 5 Belltowers yourself. Any team member can interact with a tower and it counts toward the group's total for the run. Splitting up to cover more ground simultaneously means you can clear all 5 far faster than a solo player navigating the same area alone.

For our guide on reviving teammates in PEAK, the GLOOM biome adds extra pressure since losing a team member mid-run means fewer hands for Belltower coverage.

tip
The Bellringer Badge is tied to a single expedition, meaning all 5 activations must happen before the run ends. There's no cumulative progress across multiple runs.

Tips for completing the run efficiently

After testing routes through the GLOOM, a few patterns help consistently:

  • Start high. Spend the early minutes of your GLOOM entry gaining elevation to map out sparkle locations before committing to a route.
  • Mark your targets. Note the direction each silver statue points as you pass them, even if you can't stop immediately.
  • Divide and conquer. In a full group, assign each player a zone so no one doubles up on the same tower while others go unfound.
  • Don't ignore Crows. They're a passive waypoint system. Crows near a location almost always mean a Belltower is below.
  • Move fast between activations. The fire at each tower creates a safe zone, but the clock on your expedition keeps running.

For broader survival strategies that will help you stay alive long enough to hit all 5 towers, the PEAK climbing and team survival guide covers stamina management and biome-specific movement in detail.
