The Weird Owls in People of Note are easy to overlook on your first run through the world of Note. They look like a quirky collectible, but the payoff for tracking all 20 down is genuinely worth the effort: Ordinary Al on Pyre hands out four reward milestones, capped by The Third Echo, the strongest rap microphone available for Vox. Miss even one owl and you'll be grinding back through areas you already cleared.

Weird Owl trivia encounter
Spread across every major region in People of Note, the Weird Owls are a collectible challenge where you defeat the correct owl in combat to earn a Weird Owl Feather. Each owl asks a trivia question about the world of Note, and identifying the right target is the entire puzzle. There are exactly 20 owls distributed from Chordia through to the Scales of the World, and all 20 feathers get turned in to Ordinary Al on Pyre.
The questions test your knowledge of game lore, faction names, ability costs, and geography, so players who skip dialogue will find themselves guessing. This guide removes the guesswork entirely.

Ordinary Al milestone rewards
Ordinary Al pays out at four milestones: 5, 10, 15, and 20 feathers. Here's what you get at each tier:
Heart Topper boosts the power of linked abilities by 50% when the character is at full health. The practical use is straightforward: it rewards aggressive, clean play where you avoid taking damage, hitting harder at the start of fights before enemies chip you down.
Treble Threat adds 2 BP, giving you more room to chain skills in a single turn. Two extra BP sounds modest, but in a turn-based system built around ability costs, that headroom translates directly into longer and more damaging skill sequences.
One Hit Wonder gives a 100% boost to linked abilities, which is double the power of Heart Topper. The trade-off is that the skill can only be used once per battle. Save it for a boss's vulnerable phase and the damage spike is significant.
The Third Echo is a rap microphone for Vox with 41 offense, beating out Absolute Zero (the mic found in the game's final area) which sits at 37 offense. Beyond raw attack, it comes loaded with 7 songstone slots and 5 remix stone slots, plus additional connections. If you're building Vox for endgame content, this is the weapon you want.

Trivia #3 sits inside Whirls Generation's Maintenance tunnel, behind the Sad Bouncer. Getting past that bouncer requires bribing them with their favourite drink. You need to mix Brandy, Cola Tengo, and Lemon Rhymed at the Everflow bar. Head there before trying to access the maintenance tunnel, or you'll be turned away at the door.
