What's the fastest way to complete the contest?
The seeking Pokémon don't spot you the instant they notice movement. There's a brief suspicion window before you're actually caught, and that gap is the key to fast times.
Using the camouflage move is the most reliable approach for beginners. When a seeker suspects you, stand completely still and they'll lose interest. For players pushing for faster times, you can actually keep sprinting for a split second after a Pokémon raises suspicion, and if you're close enough to the PC, just commit to the dash.
The consistently fastest method comes down to location. Choose a Pokémon Center with minimal clutter around the back of the building. Start the minigame, use the building itself as cover on the approach, camouflage next to the closest object to the PC, then sprint the final stretch. Playing in another player's world: Both the host and any guests can participate together. The fastest time among all players becomes that town's best record, but only the host receives prizes. Spectator mode is not available.
Playing on a Cloud Island: All players on the island can join the contest. The fastest time among all participants becomes the island's best record. Only the player who actually set that best time receives prizes.
