Fisch Guide: All Fish in Bellona's Frenzy of War

Bellona's Frenzy of War sits as the first layer inside Olympus, buried deep beneath Atlantis, and it holds 12 unique fish that most players won't find by accident. Every single one spawns at the same pool, which makes the grind surprisingly manageable once you know the exact bait and conditions required. The challenge is the weather and time gating, not navigation.

How do you reach Bellona's Frenzy of War?

Getting here takes a few steps, but the route is consistent once you've done it once.

  • Equip your boat and sail to Grand Reef at GPS coordinates (-3554.2, 143.3, 472.2)
  • Jump into the black hole at the center of Grand Reef to enter Atlantis
  • Inside Atlantis, equip a Tidebreaker or an Advanced Oxygen Tank before going any further
  • Find the central circular water pool and dive straight down to reach the Kraken Pool
  • At the bottom of the Kraken Pool, follow the cracks in the floor
  • Those cracks lead directly into Bellona's Frenzy of War

Once you're inside, every fish in this guide spawns at a single pool located at GPS (-9021, -2307, 420). You never need to reposition between catches, which is a genuine quality-of-life advantage over most other Bestiary zones.

No season restrictions apply to any of them, so you only need to track bait, weather, and time of day.

Daytime catches: clear and windy conditions

The four daytime fish split cleanly between Clear and Windy weather. On Clear days, use Minnow bait for both the Rustscale Minnow and the Ironjaw Guppy, and swap to Coral bait when targeting the Shieldbearer Koi. On Windy days, Worm bait gets you the Splinterfin Carp and Shrimp bait handles the Bladeback Perch.

Batching these together by weather condition rather than by fish is the fastest approach. When it's Clear, knock out all three Clear-day fish before the weather shifts. When it's Windy, go straight for the Carp and Perch.

Nighttime catches: rain, wind, and storms

Night fishing here is where the real work happens. Three different weather conditions are needed:

  • Rainy Night: Minnow bait for the Speartail Pike
  • Windy Night: Minnow bait for the Warstripe Bass
  • Stormy Night: Fish Head for Bloodfang Barracuda, Squid for Gladiator Eel, Shark Head for Warlord Sturgeon

Stormy nights are the most valuable windows in the entire zone. Three fish are catchable simultaneously, so load up on all three bait types before a storm hits and cycle through them without leaving the pool.

How do you unlock the Legionnaire Lamprey?

The Legionnaire Lamprey is an Exotic rarity fish and the only one in this zone that doesn't follow standard bait or weather rules. Catching it requires a specific sequence:

  1. Wait for a War Surge Event to begin (these trigger randomly in the game)
  2. During the event, catch 20 perfect fish
  3. Completing that threshold triggers the Legionnaire Lamprey Hunt
  4. The Lamprey becomes catchable during that Hunt window

War Surge Events are entirely random, so there's no way to force one. The best strategy is to stay active in the zone and be ready to pivot to perfect catches the moment an event starts. According to both source guides, the event window is time-limited, so fishing immediately when it begins is the priority.

What are the best rods for this Bestiary?

According to Pro Game Guides and MrGuider, the four recommended rods for clearing Bellona's Frenzy of War are:

  • Blade of Glorp
  • Ice Wrapers
  • No-Life Rod
  • Brick Rod

Since all 12 fish share one pool, rod choice matters more for catch efficiency and handling difficulty than for any location-specific bonus. Stronger rods reduce the grind on the Legendary and Mythical catches, where each missed opportunity costs you an entire weather cycle.

Efficient order to complete the Bestiary

Rather than fishing randomly and hoping conditions match, plan your session around weather cycles:

  • Start with Clear Day fish: Rustscale Minnow, Ironjaw Guppy, Shieldbearer Koi
  • Transition to Windy Day fish: Splinterfin Carp, Bladeback Perch
  • At night, target Rainy Night and Windy Night fish as conditions allow
  • Reserve full focus for Stormy Nights to hit all three high-rarity fish at once
  • Keep an eye on event notifications for the War Surge trigger

The Rusty Hook (Trash rarity) has no requirements at all, so you'll likely catch it within the first few casts regardless of conditions.
