Steal an Egg Speed Guide: How to Increase Speed Fast

Speed controls everything in Steal an Egg on Roblox. It determines which biomes you can realistically enter, whether you outrun the guardian chasing you back to base, and how quickly the whole progression loop snowballs. Your current Speed total sits in the bottom-left corner of the screen next to a shoe icon. Every method that raises it feeds directly into unlocking better eggs and faster income.

What does Speed actually do in Steal an Egg?

Each biome has a minimum Speed threshold. You can walk into any zone without meeting it, but the guardian will catch you on the way back and reset your run. Hitting the right number before entering a biome is the difference between a clean steal and wasted time. Here are all nine biomes and the Speed you need to outrun their guardians reliably.

For a deeper look at what each zone contains beyond the speed gate, the Steal an Egg biomes guide covers every guardian, top pets, and zone layout.

Grind the Treadmill

The Treadmill spawns directly in front of your base and is the only unlimited Speed source in the game. Every step on it awards Speed, and upgrading it raises the per-step figure. Early levels deliver around +200 Speed per step. Mid-tier upgrades push that to +500. The Level 8 Hacker Treadmill reaches +11,000 per step, and the maxed Angel Treadmill sits at the top.

The funding loop is straightforward: steal eggs, hatch pets, let pets generate cash, then pour that cash into Treadmill upgrades. Night cycles block egg stealing entirely, so that downtime is the best window to sit on the Treadmill and bank Speed before the next reset.

tip
Short-form video reels play on the Treadmill screen while you train. The grind is easier than it sounds.

Buy Trails before you grind

Trails are cosmetic effects that also apply a Speed multiplier to everything the Treadmill produces. The Trail Shop sits on the right side of the safe zone. Only your equipped Trail counts, so buying every tier on the way up wastes cash. Save and jump straight to the highest Trail your balance can reach.

The Divine Trail at x14 is the highest multiplier currently available. The order matters here: buy the best Trail you can afford first, then start a long Treadmill session. Every Speed point you earn after equipping a higher Trail is worth proportionally more than the points you earned before.

What are the best Speed multiplier upgrades in the shop?

Beyond Trails, the shop sells stacking Speed Multiplier tiers purchased with Robux. These climb into the x128 range and can be doubled again to x256. They multiply Treadmill output directly, so buying them before a dedicated training session produces far more Speed per hour than buying them afterward.

For flat Speed injections, the Robux Speed Shop sells packages ranging from +150,000 Speed at the low end up to +1,000,000,000 Speed at the top, with +1M, +10M, +50M, and +500M options in between. A single +1B purchase clears the Cosmic biome's 700M requirement on its own. Prices shift between updates, so check the current Robux figure in the shop rather than relying on older numbers.

tip
The Robux Speed packages are optional. The Treadmill plus Trail combination gets you to every biome without spending real money. The packages just compress weeks of grinding into minutes.

How do events and the Pet Index give free Speed?

Hungry Monster event

The Hungry Monster is a repeatable event where you locate five parasite-infested eggs on the map and feed them to the monster. Filling its belly meter earns a reward chest with a randomized drop. The chest outcomes and their rates are:

The 2x Treadmill Speed drop at 20% is the one worth farming. It doubles the output of the machine you are already running, which compounds significantly over a long session.

Pet Index completions

The Pet Index pays out rewards for filling entries with hatched pets. Rewards scale with rarity. A Common entry like the Chicken returns a small cash-per-second bonus. A Divine tier completion pays 6,800,000 Speed alongside $300B in cash, and Legendary completions hand over $400B. Claiming index rewards consistently is one of the largest free Speed jumps available in the mid game.

Admin Abuse events

Developer-run Admin Abuse events grant large temporary Speed bonuses and admin trails. During one, players can sprint to the Cosmic biome, grab a Cosmic Egg, and return to base in seconds. These events have run on Saturdays, though no specific upcoming session is confirmed at time of writing. Watch the game page and in-game event pop-ups for the current schedule.

Does the Wi-Fi trick or any Speed glitch actually work?

No. The widely shared method claiming you can buy a Speed gamepass for free by cutting your Wi-Fi mid-purchase does not work. The purchase completes and the Robux leaves your account regardless. Tab-switching tricks for duplicating Hungry Monster chest rewards also fail.

There is no method that produces genuinely infinite Speed. What players describe as "infinite" is the combination of a x14 Divine Trail, a maxed Treadmill, and high Robux multiplier tiers stacked together. At that point Speed accumulates fast enough that biome gates stop being meaningful obstacles.

warning
Do not attempt the Wi-Fi purchase trick. It does not grant free items and will still deduct Robux from your account.
