Every Steal An Egg Biome and Its Speed Requirement

The map is bigger than it looks, and the speed gaps are brutal

Stealing an egg is the easy part. Getting home with it before the guardian launches you across the map is where most runs fall apart. Roblox Steal an Egg runs across 10 distinct biomes, each one gated behind a speed requirement that multiplies hard over the previous zone. Forest asks for nothing. Cherry Blossom asks for 2.5 billion. The climb between those two points is the entire game, and knowing what each zone demands before you walk in is the difference between farming income and respawning empty-handed.

How many biomes are in Steal an Egg?

There are exactly 10 biomes in Steal an Egg: Forest, Lake, Desert, Jungle, Snow, Volcano, Abyss Ocean, Prehistoric, Cosmic, and Cherry Blossom. They run in a fixed order across the map and never shuffle. Each zone has one guardian, one egg pool, and one speed threshold that determines whether you make it out with your stolen egg or get ragdolled back to the start.

The pet index across all zones holds 86 entries. Finishing all eight pets in any regular zone pays out speed, money, and an exclusive bat skin, so clearing each biome fully before moving on has real mechanical value beyond just collecting.

The table below covers every zone on the map. The minimum speed listed is what you need to have a realistic chance of escaping the guardian on a clean run. Going in exactly at the minimum leaves almost no cushion, especially if you are carrying a large egg.

warning
The listed minimums are thresholds for entering, not guarantees of escape. Aim to double the listed minimum before farming a new zone. A player carrying a huge egg at exactly the minimum speed will still lose that egg regularly.

The jumps between zones are nowhere near even. Forest to Lake costs 900 speed total. The step from Cosmic to Cherry Blossom costs another 1.8 billion on top of everything already banked. Treat the back half of the map as a separate grind from the front half.

What happens when a guardian catches you?

Every guardian in Steal an Egg works the same way. You can walk into any biome at any speed since there are no border gates. The speed requirement only matters when you pick up an egg and the guardian starts chasing. Getting caught triggers a ragdoll that flings you away from the biome, costing the entire run. The egg you were carrying drops on the ground and any nearby player can grab it before you recover.

Two things cut your effective speed during a chase. Huge and giant eggs apply a carry drag that reduces how fast you actually move, so a player sitting exactly on a biome's minimum will struggle with oversized eggs even if they cleared the same guardian easily with a small one. Running a curved or zig-zag path back to base also bleeds momentum and hands the pursuer ground it would never gain on a straight line.

What pets can you get from each biome?

Egg pools scale with the speed gate protecting each zone. Forest pets earn a few dollars per second. Late-game zones produce pets worth millions per second. The table below lists the full egg pool per biome and the strongest confirmed pet in each one.

For a deeper breakdown of each pet's income rate and rarity tier, the Steal an Egg eggs, pets, and income rates guide covers every entry in the index.

tip
High-rarity eggs can surface in low-speed biomes during a normal spawn cycle. Forest and Lake runs occasionally produce something far above their usual pool, so early accounts still get real shots at valuable pets without clearing a single late-game gate.

How to build speed fast enough to reach each biome

Speed in Steal an Egg comes from a few specific sources, and the order you invest in them matters more than raw grind time.

  • Treadmill: The primary speed generator. Standing on it produces speed continuously, and every cash upgrade raises the output rate. Pet income in your pen directly controls how fast the treadmill number climbs, so stocking high-income pets is the real speed strategy.
  • Trails: Ten trail tiers run from Common to Divine rarity. Top-tier trails apply multipliers as high as x14 to your treadmill output, making a trail upgrade far more valuable per dollar than an equivalent treadmill spend. Check the Steal an Egg mutations guide for how multipliers stack with your existing setup.
  • Robux speed packs: Bundles range from +150K up to +1B speed. The largest pack clears the Cosmic requirement outright, but it stops short of Cherry Blossom's 2.5 billion threshold. Robux spending skips tiers but does not replace the need for treadmill progress at the top end.
  • Night cycles: Stealing shuts off at night, so parking on the treadmill through the downtime converts dead time directly into speed.
  • Admin Abuse events: Developers occasionally hand out large temporary speed bonuses, long enough for a sprint into a biome several tiers above your normal ceiling.

Egg spawns reset every five minutes, and the map closes for 13 seconds between cycles. Players who just hit a new speed threshold should wait at the zone boundary and enter on a fresh spawn cycle rather than walking in halfway through one.

Treadmill drives all speed gains

Forest and Lake: the income foundation

Forest has no speed requirement and a Chicken guardian that barely registers as a threat. The pets here look worthless next to anything from Volcano or beyond, but their real function is bankrolling the treadmill upgrades that make mid-game zones reachable. Bear earns $240/s and Brr Brr Patapim earns $1.8K/s, both solid early income sources worth farming before moving on.

Lake requires 900 speed and introduces the first real guardian in the Swan. The zone's top pet is Leviathan at $220K/s (Cosmic), a significant income jump that funds the Desert push. Turtle at $60/s and Axolotl at $2.8K/s fill out the reliable mid-rarity slots.

Desert through Snow: the mid-game grind

Desert asks for 10K speed and guards its eggs with a Scorpion. Royal Sphinx at $280K/s is the zone's Cosmic-tier ceiling, with Sand Spider (Mythic, $16K/s) as a more realistic farming target. Jungle follows at 40K with a Tiger guardian and a King Snake (Secret, $3.5M/s) as the headline pet.

Snow is where the map starts punishing underprepared players hard. The 170K requirement is manageable with solid mid-game trail investment, but the Yeti guardian is significantly faster than anything in the earlier zones. Ice Dragon (Eternal, $65M/s) sits at the top of the Snow pool, with King Mammoth (Cosmic, $400K/s) as the more accessible farming target.

Volcano through Prehistoric: late-game territory

Volcano's 700K requirement and Cerberus guardian mark the start of the late game. The pool here runs deep, with Lava Dragon (Eternal, $100M/s) and Phoenix (Eternal, $85M/s) both sitting above the Secret-tier Cerberus ($8M/s). Abyss Ocean follows at 2.5 million speed with El Maja (Eternal, $130M/s) as the zone's top earner.

Prehistoric at 18 million speed is guarded by a T-Rex and holds Mosasaurus (Eternal, $180M/s) at the top of its pool. Tralaledon (Secret, $32M/s) is a notable mid-rarity target here.

Cosmic and Cherry Blossom: the endgame

Cosmic sits at 700 million speed, roughly 41 times what Prehistoric demands. The Cosmic Skeleton Boss guards this zone, and the pool here includes the only Divine-tier pet in the game: Unicorn at $1B/s. Income figures for several Cosmic pets remain unconfirmed, so treat this zone as a long-term project rather than a quick farm.

Cherry Blossom closes the map at 2.5 billion speed. Practical reporting puts the speed needed for reliable steals closer to 3.5 billion, accounting for the gap between walking in and actually escaping with an egg. The zone carries the only Eternal and Divine entries outside Cosmic, with Oni Tiger (Eternal, $600M/s) and the Stag (Secret, $145M/s) as the standout pets. Cherry Blossom also holds the Sakura Incubator, a mutation machine exclusive to this zone that requires a Crane pet and Sakura Crystals from the Great Bloom event to operate.

The largest Robux speed pack available stops short of Cherry Blossom's 2.5 billion requirement. Reaching this zone requires real treadmill and trail progress regardless of how much Robux spending goes into the account.

What's the best progression order for clearing biomes?

The most efficient path through the biomes is the same loop repeated at each tier: stock high-income pets, upgrade the treadmill with that income, invest in trail multipliers, then push the next zone only after reaching roughly double the listed minimum speed.

Rushing zones at the exact minimum costs more time than it saves. A player who loses three eggs to the Volcano Cerberus because they entered at 700K instead of 1.4M has effectively paid a tax on impatience. The treadmill keeps running whether you are farming or waiting, so the cost of patience is nearly zero.

For players who enjoy the stealing side of other Roblox games, the Steal a Brain Rot best stealing methods guide covers a similar loop in a different game with some transferable tactical thinking.
