Play Missions in Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds award Donpa Tickets and Duel Medals for completing objectives through regular play before the deadline.
The feature arrived with Ver. 2.0.0 alongside the new in-game Shop. You can put those currencies toward Shop purchases, so choose an item you want before deciding which tasks to tackle. Start by checking your connection, then read the mission's condition and cutoff before racing.
Do you need an Internet connection for Play Missions?
Yes. You must be connected to the Internet to participate in Play Missions. Connect before working on an objective, even if your usual racing routine includes offline modes.
The connection requirement applies to this feature, not to every activity in the game. Rival Duel, for example, lets you face CPU CrossOver racers offline. Keep the requirements of your chosen racing mode separate from the connection needed to participate in missions.
How do you progress Play Missions through regular play?
Play Missions give you objectives to complete as you play. Read the task before choosing an activity, and let its wording decide what you focus on during the session.
Use this order when choosing a mission:
- Read the objective. Identify the action or condition you need to complete.
- Check the reward. Choose a task that helps you work toward your intended purchase.
- Check the deadline. Make sure you have time to finish before committing your session to it.
- Play to meet the condition. Keep the mission's actual requirement as your target.
Regular play is the route to completion, but it is not a reason to skip reading the objective. Plan around the task you have, rather than assuming your usual racing session will satisfy it.
When do you need to clear Play Missions?
You need to clear each mission by its deadline to earn its reward. Treat that cutoff as part of the requirement, not as a reminder to return whenever you have time.
If you are choosing between several objectives, prioritize a mission you can finish before it expires. A reward you want is only a useful target if you can complete the associated task in time.
Before ending a session, check whether the objective is complete. If it still needs work, compare the remaining task with the time left before its cutoff. Do not plan your final attempt for after the deadline.
What rewards can you earn from Play Missions?
Donpa Tickets and Duel Medals
The mission reward currencies are Donpa Tickets and Duel Medals. Use the reward attached to your chosen objective to decide whether it supports the purchase you are saving for.
| Currency | Main spending destination | Another supported use or earning route |
|---|---|---|
| Donpa Tickets | The in-game Shop | Buy eligible former Festival Gadgets through Customize Gadgets |
| Duel Medals | The in-game Shop | Also announced as rewards for Best-of-10 competitions |
Best-of-10 competitions are marked as coming soon in Ver. 2.0.0. They are a separate route to Duel Medals, not a requirement for earning the currency through Play Missions.
Check the currency requested by your target item before choosing an objective. Saving toward a Donpa Ticket purchase and saving toward a Duel Medal purchase are different goals, even though both currencies appear in the Shop.

Match rewards to your goal
Where can you spend Donpa Tickets and Duel Medals?
The in-game Shop
Open Shop to exchange your currencies for its listed rewards. The Shop includes six reward categories:
- Auras
- Horns
- Decals
- Characters
- Titles
- Jukebox tracks
Shop purchases are one part of unlocking rewards in Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds. If a particular character or customization item is your goal, check its purchase route before spending the currency you have earned.
The Shop lineup will be updated over time. Recheck the selection when deciding what to save for, and use the price shown on your chosen item to set your currency target.
Former Festival Gadgets bought with Donpa Tickets
Donpa Tickets also have a separate purchase route through Customize Gadgets. Ver. 2.0.0 makes six Gadgets previously distributed as Festival rewards available there:
| Gadget | Required plate | Purchase currency |
|---|---|---|
| Speedy Shortcut Kit | Master Plate or higher | Donpa Tickets |
| Perfect Charge Kit | Master Plate or higher | Donpa Tickets |
| 4th Stage Charge Kit | Master Plate or higher | Donpa Tickets |
| Air Trick Action Kit | Master Plate or higher | Donpa Tickets |
| Slipstream Kit | Master Plate or higher | Donpa Tickets |
| Spin Dash Kit | Master Plate or higher | Donpa Tickets |
Master Plate unlocks after 28 races under the lowered Ver. 2.0.0 requirements. If one of these six Gadgets is your next purchase, meet that plate requirement and use Customize Gadgets to buy it with Donpa Tickets.
